We all "gathered together..." to celebrate

JEFF and

                                                         his wife LINDSAY

and

                                          TWO LITTLE ELVES handed out the presents...
to us all....

We had a wonderful dinner after which the elves and I settled down to watch "Scooby-Doo" and
nap.....

                                                    It was a wonderful Holiday Celebration....

And even Kota and Libby joined in the fun

A memorable Christmas...
We are so thankful for the blessings of our family...

QUIET NIGHTS OF QUIET STARS

                             
                              These pages document moving from Fall into Winter.............

I have used a 3/4 page (on the left ) that opens to these pictures
and was able to scrap 8  photos in this way (along with four 3x3 across the top left)...

I found two old Basic Grey papers that I think are muted and soft....on a darkish gray
cardstock background....

I snapped all these photos off our back deck looking down into the forest that surrounds
us....so they have a "place" memory in my heart...the snowflakes presaging Winter's arrival
tomorrow.....
I find this kind of work so relaxing and satisfying...ahhhhh....

MY AUTUMN GARDEN

Here is my double page spread for my Garden Scrapbook detailing our front garden
                                              in its Autumn Glory....

I've added some dried basil stems and frosty oak leaves on this side.........

AND.......

                           Some little dried rose petals here...

I really love how everything goes all twiggy and grey-ish blue...
..........and how the flower heads dry on their stems...
Everything closing off for the coming of W I N T E R  S N O W S ........

Although I hate to see the days getting shorter and darkening so early
I do love how my little garden spot looks.....;)))

IT'S A START...

Every December 1st finds me scouring our yard for leftover garden plantings that have gone
through the first frost.   I choose a different basket each year--
 (this was an old one of my Mom's that she painted and I found this morning
 hiding in our attic--
I must have come across it last year when I stored our Christmas decorations...)

Twigs, branches, left over mums-- all dried out, and santolina, and lavender--- and generally just
lots of "Twiggy" stuff.  ;)))) and a few greens....I set it up in our front entryway as a welcome...

                           {Our leaf guy has to come for his final "blow through";)))))
                                   --we are beyond raking with our creaking backs and bones--
                                          so, we gave ourselves permission to hire him....
                                                                            a little treat for us both....;))) }

AND...

Our stove fan/light stopped working last night...so my own personal "Mr. FIX-IT" took it all
apart and cleaned and repaired it..
Here is a funny picture of him holding a beer while screwing in the final screw holding it up...
.(this is for my December Daily Journal--I try to take at least one picture a day
describing our days leading up to the New Year....)

We had been searching online to see different models and prices--(We really didn't want to lay out another $150+ or so at this pricey time of year either)...................and

                                 SOOOOO,
                                                     TAH-DAH--Mr. Fix-It to the rescue...
(and, unlike when I try anything like this, there were not even any screws leftover. LOL).

I hope to decorate our little tabletop tree this weekend...but I NEED to find teeney- tiny
ornaments...I have been gifting my larger ones to my children every year as part of their
Christmas gifts....most were my mother's and my Grand-mere's...very fragile and memory-laden.....

I haven't done any sewing--but am planning on working on my strip projects over the coming weekend....
