RAINY FRIDAY, et al

I am pin basting my 3rd and final
Christmas Ojos tabletopper
this morning..

I've been saving this fabric for so long;
I decided that
a couple
of toile
Christmas birds

AND

Lovely tulips would be  a pretty
border for this one...

Meanwhile I will be hand quilting
Christmas
Ojos Deux!!

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I began hand quilting this scrappy
piece, but for some reason, all
those seam allowances I found
super hard to quilt through!

So, this one will be finished
by Helga...[my machine ;}}} ].
*****************************

The grandgirls'  quilts
are still waiting for border work...
I hope to find the perfect borders
today....
[hope springs eternal, right?]

****************************
I hope you are faring well--
it seems that our whole country is either
having a lot of
snow,
ice,
 or rainy
Days..

Hugs for a super weekend,

IT'S A RAINY AFTERNOON

AND HERE IS LAST NIGHT'S SKY ON FIRE.....

JUST AS OUR SUN SET...

Here is Sleigh Bells Ring so far......coming along and I have three more of the red and green blocks set up here

this one is partially sewn into strips and these two are just set up for later on

You can see my little box of 2.5 " squares on the side there....

And I also took the time to work on my lozenges quilt that I have named : "Jouzai"
which translated means lozenges in Japanese...
I have this pile done

And working on these:

Helga is cooperating very well on these--the little 1/4" foot lifts up just enough to squeeze the next block underneath and is clear so I can sew to the right of the drawn line just a tad--(Thanks Bonnie Hunter for that tip!) .

And so,  my Thanksgiving Eve Day has been filled with packing to go to my daughter's tomorrow for our family get together, some reading, the ubiquitous laundry (boo hiss!!), some crossword puzzling and generally taking it easy.

I am sending out my wishes to you and yours for a wonderful Thanksgiving Day

Sunday "Blues-ey" , et al

Well, Blues-ey----Together--at last--

It's a little crooked (Babe's arms were gettin' tired--off-dah!!)

THERE--a little better...This is the first quilt I've attempted with SOOOOO many little pieces--AND--I know I turned some of the blocks the WRONG WAY (aaargh!!) BUT....since it's just for my little cover-up--I decided to leave them (actually I didn't even see it until I took these pix!!  LOL); it's supposed to be diamond shapes --oh well...c'est la vie.

I have a question for you readers:  When you use templates (acrylic or other) do you personally trace around them and then cut with scissors or rotary cut?

I got these templates from Katy at "I'm A Ginger Monkey" a few weeks ago as I L-O-V-E-D this pattern--hexagons, you say--no, really (duh!!  ROTFLOL):

AND I plan to hand-piece it--hubby thinks I've finally, irretrievably and utterly "Lost It" big time
:--}} (he has a moustache--that's him guffawing away....)
this is why he N E V E R enters my quilting space:
and HE has NO idea just how much fabric is in there---but I digress...anyhooo...
.
Here's a pix of it "Spring Carnival":

Isn't it just yummy???

We are still awaiting that Nor'Easter that is supposed to bring us our much-needed rain. I keep humming..."Soon it's gonna rain, I can feeeel it, soon it's gonna rain, rain like h***"--uh, a few little lyric changes there...
Adieu mes amies--have a super Sunday--Julierose, La Blageuse
