On this foggy morning my favorite iris just glowed .......
And.....even more blooms are emerging...they appear fluorescent in the morning light...
and right next to them are these Japanese iris .....
Violet iris grow on the side of my garage off of our tv room...along with the
white that just appeared for the first time this year.....
such a glorious pure white...so sparkling in the early morning light....
I am hoping to acquire more iris this year to add to this flowering heaven.....

and our little blue spruce is showing new growth this year, too...
I guess spring is really come at long last....

IRIS LEMONADE
This beauty just came out today and smells like lemonade...I have no memory of
planting it...it wasn't around last year...a wonderful mystery...;))))
AND, another one it appears...
These I planted a couple years ago...
and they are ready to emerge--THEY smell like grapes...sooo lovely...
these are on the same side as the Lemonade ones and below
Still too cold for my peonies to come out...but I am so looking forward to their
blooming....
************************************************************
I finished my May Baskets wall hanging and put it up over my wine chest in our
dining area....the reverse (which I will save for another post--stay tuned ;}}} )
is a summer hanging...( as you can see on the top border I RAN OUT of
the border fabric--yikes--but so be it....)
********************************************
And, none of these is exactly like the other..............
More of my leftover 2" (+/-) squares; I am making 9-patches and really have no idea
what they will become...but am enjoying the sewing...
****************************************************************
I hope that you are all enjoying this long Memorial Day Weekend...
It's a quiet one for us here...and tomorrow we are expecting downpours--but
Thom made his yellow whole pea soup and that along with my homemade croutons
should keep us warm .....
hugs to you all

NINE APRIL RAINERS
and
One of these bloomed:
Cassidy's favorite color.....grape scented sentinel--
Here are today's nine blocks
Seventeen more to go.....then to find some kind of order....
Grrrrrr...
Even "Monsieur tigre" , peeking out there, is wearing flowers....
I am getting to the end of making these blocks and after laying out
5 across and 7 down--I am finding that the width of my backing
will have to be enlarged....as per usual my math skills leave
a lot to be desired...I didn't take into account those sashings....;000
So, some kind of Christmas-sey border will have to go on the back
...will have to do some stash diving....
and that is all for this rainy gray day

WELCOME HOME, SAILORS---IRISES
These lovelies greeted us after our week's sojourn....
I got just one as a "FREE" gift with another order of bulbs long ago--the other bulbs were eaten up by our resident deer population for dessert!
BUT THESE--OH MY!
Loving how these swoop low over the rock...so romantic!
they are so purely white--they glimmer and glisten even in the dark....just a little strip of cream in there, too..
A beautiful Sunday spectacle to cherish....
And, lots more to come...buds a-plenty
Best of holiday long weekend to all you lovelies...
Hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (in love with irises--can't wait for the purple ones to come out now...)
