SPRING WORKS, et al

I made a set of "Hugs and "Kisses"
for Spring--still working on the
borders...

and

I took out my "Button Baskets"
early to brighten up our
dining area...

The "baskets" are all scraps:
at "Gone 2 the Beach"
sent me that light blue/red one--
I had enough to use in two baskets...
:))))
Thank you Quilty Friend...

In here:↴↴↴↴
is a piece from my DH's pj's
😁
that dark blue plaid--

and all the handles are from a very old piece
gifted to me from an older friend...
and
the buttons are from my Grand-mere's
button collection...
I really enjoy looking at this one...

"Late August"
is a small flimsy
ready to be backed,
layered, and quilted...
↧↧↧↧
I couldn't resist adding those
sunflowers--I felt it needed
this print--
I hope to find a backing and
layer this up this week...
**********************************

P I C O T E E
continues to stun us with ever-more
blooms....
This one will come out in the
middle of those two layers

and...
yes, still more to come

At the
"Tippity-Top"

I count TEN in all...
who would have imagined that
my "Ghostly" amaryllis would
be such a producer of
beauty?

**********************************
We have hit 60 degrees
here this afternoon...
and Tom will be bbq-ing burgers
for us--what a treat....
those and tater tots...
will be our Sunday Special
today...

GRANNY STRIPE AFGHAN PROJECT

I've begun crocheting a
"Granny Stripe" afghan...
Using up all my leftover yarn from
my knitting days...

[It is interesting to note that in crochet
I hold the hook in the right hand and
the yarn in the left--
opposite of how I knit...
This has taken a bit of getting used to ;)))]

These are the colorways I am using...
all the yarns are from "Miss Babs"
online shop...
such lovely yarns...
I have 3 big cakes (they will wind for you)
like this one:
It is called "Yowza" for a reason
hahaha;)))

I made a granny square afghan years ago
but this is slightly different:
{I saw this on Attic 24, Knitting Natty on YT
and various other YT videos...}

TO START--
I chained 199+3--

(phew!! that was quite
a counting feat!)

at the start
 so this will be a
big long afghan...

I've wanted to practice
double crochet and this really
utilizes that stitch all throughout...

Most mornings I have my coffee, read
my blog comments and answer them; then
I crochet one l  o  n  g
row....it is very calming...
I figure this will take me at least one year
to finish....meanwhile, it has already
begun to warm my lap as I go ;)))

Sunday's supper tonight
is an easy-peasy one:

[We have always called it a
"supper" on Sundays
rather than "dinner" for
some reason].

Tuna salad sandwiches on
toasted bakery rye bread with
lettuce along with
french fries and pickled beets.
Yummy-ness...😁😏

Note:
I use a pinch of dried mustard
and one of ginger to spice up
my tuna a bit-- along with:
a sprinkle of
chives, tarragon, basil
and dried onion flakes mixed
in my mayo...

What spices do you use in your
tuna salad?

I hope your Sunday is a restful
day for you...

AM I BLUE...

I am still hand quilting away on my triple dresden "Seaside Spring"....
This is the last of the three...

I am flitting on over to Angela's at Super Scrappy a little bit late this week......
I have not even considered "dark green" as the new May color as yet....
I think I used up all my green scraps in january as my "Franken Quilt" was a combo
of both dark and light....we shall see....

****************************************

Here is "Merry Month of May" 's 3rd block:↡↡↡

She has that "blue" look  I think...

And the first three together...in my own block-a-day challenge to get my mojo
working again....
                       *******************************************************
I did wind  some bobbins and did a little clean-up of my room,,,,
but mainly feeling the "blues" a bit today...

It doesn't seem possible that we have been isolating since March 10th--but we have...
                                   A             VERY       L O N G        TIME...
hasn't it been?
***************************************
BUT      👫     '))))
Happily, the sun came out after a rainy morning...and we were able to sit on our
front patio--[Thom put up our  umbrella] and we sat in the shade for about
an hour...just relaxing and chatting until the ocean breezes started up
and cooled it all off...
**************************************
Sunday supper will be leftover homemade bean soup and the end of
my homemade bread loaf...(slathered with butter--oh yum!!)

I HOPE YOU HAD A PEACEFUL SUNDAY
