Christmas Web, et al

the first part of my Christmas Web
is sewn together...

Um--I had a teensey problem
with the meeting points on one
of the whole webs
↯↯↯↯

See how the fabric buckled up?
I obviously sewed too close to the
edges or the fabrics stretched...

So I pinned it so that
it matched correctly,
 ironed it well,
turned it over and sewed on
the crease, and it straightened
out enough for me to
say "it'll quilt out!".
Y A Y!!
;))))
I have just begun working on the
second square...

It's taken me a while to continue
to post here, as I had
a root canal this past Monday
after my dentist began a crown
and saw my tooth was badly
cracked and the root infected.

Hoping this procedure will allow
me to keep the tooth--an
upper back molar...
No promises--I will go back to
get a permanent crown in a couple
weeks after my mouth etc. settles down.

S I G H...
I am starting to feel better today
thankfully...

The Fabric Journal prompts for November
came out this morning:
They are
"Christmas Bird"
Here is my base page pinned
in place...I love that old-timey
picture that I found in my stash.

The two side pieces are some more
of that leftover jelly roll race
that was called on account of
bad "bowing out"!! :)))
😈😡😨
I am happy to be using up
even those little cut off bits...

AND

the Second Prompt is
"Winter Bird"

I fussy cut this chickadee--my favorite
Winter bird at our feeder--
flying through the background
snow fabric and over
Winter houses, a snow flower, and trees...
I may have to add some lacey bits, too.

I am excited to invisible baste these
in place and begin to embellish...
as i can do that seated in my
recliner on my wool mat in
my lap....

The monthly "challenge" is a fabric
"Belly Band" as in junk journals...

[FYI: A narrow piece of fabric
attached at either end so you can
slip a card or whatever behind it]

I haven't decided about that as yet...
But am thinking perhaps an old picture
of our family dressed for
Winter in my Grand-mere's
back yard in the snow.... ???

These challenges are getting more
difficult each month...
but I am thoroughly enjoying
this project...

I hope this finds you all healthy and
happy and sewing away--
Gosh, not long 'til Christmas, huh?

hugs, Julierose,
La Blageuse
