A little surprise this morning--just a dusting of white stuff....
It's so cold, I took these out my front
door;)))
Quite a difference from Summery rains....
So into my sewing room:
GREENERY↓↓↓↓ OF A DIFFERENT KIND
Here are the beginnings of my RSC journey this year:
Little pile O' scraps.......
Ojos greenery
And
Nine patches...I snuck in one darker green..
A N D
Crazy little, wonky grayed-off greens...
"Itsie-Bitsies"
I used my longer strips on Ojos;
and then mediums on 9 patches; and
little cast offs on Itsie Bitsies.....
*********************************
SINCE I HAVE ONLY VARIOUS WEIRD CUT OFFS LEFT....
I am rustling through my stash to find little greens that may have
jumped ship to add to my paltry collection....
O R T S
So on this Wintry, gray day, I am thinking of green and gold
Summertime days as I sew along...

SNOW DAYS
We've been looking out into this lately...
No deck sitting today, I fear....
Lunch, anyone?
Isn't this just so sad looking?
Heavy wet snow breaking limbs and felling trees...
Tell me,
Did someone Upset Mother Nature..?
And....
I hear another Nor'easter is on its way....
With more of this and also strong winds....
O Spring where art thou??
{Still resting...and restive!;000}
hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse-- snowed-in-euse

ORANGE: (VERY) BROKEN DISHES EDITION
Ya see, the Easter Bunny (aka darling DH) got me the Accuquilt die for this block. So, willy-nilly, I began cutting those little triangles; ok so far; then--I sewed them together on the "long" side: uhhhh: uh-oh--now I have hst's--how did this happen (perhaps if I read the instructions?) but no, I soldier on; so I flipped one over the other with diagonals matching and cut them across the seam --voila! Teeny tiny broken dish pieces--chips, really--talk about your seam allowances...yikes! I pressed them to death! Steam & all--I wasn't about to throw them out--only had a few small pieces of these fabrics I love...and all that labor....
Here's the SIZE they should have been--only one cut & a lot fewer seams--it seems!! Ack...well, I am now sewing correctly, but am keeping those lil babies--even though they are not perfect (to say the least!)
It feels Southwestern or ancient to me...hmmmm, am trying to come up with a name: Raindance, Long Ago?, Sacred Visions?, Lost Worlds?, Ceremony of Thanks.... what do you think????
Snow, snow, and more snow--about 6" so far this morning! Where are you Spring? Why are you dragging your sandal-clad-tootsies? Not even a tip of a daffodil to be seen...
I'm doing a Raindance myself and hoping for some warmth and melting...

MRS. RAGBAG'S ZIG ZAG
Up on my wall right now: this bunch of leftover HST'S I found tucked away in a baggie from eons ago!! They are kinda uneven (duh); they were my first attempt at HST work. Guess I gave up and put them away--but I am pressing (hah) on with them for fun! It took me about three days to figure out how to sew them together (rip-it, rip-it, 3x's--all 86 of them! Yikes!!)
That navy&brown leafy print was one of my very favorites. I don't plan to makeup any more HST's -- just use what's on hand...fun--but a little frustrating, too..
Here is our "cedar monster" after the "big snow" we had. The weight of all that icey snow finally broke it in half! I hate to lose cedars--they are so pretty...
As you can see, I haven't gotten much further with my Houses 2 little scene. I am having a really hard time figuring out how to border it --or not--so "up on the wall" pinning and un-pinning various fabrics and then just looking.....
I finally made my binding for Blues-ey yesterday and after all our errands today, hope to true-up the quilt and sew the binding on it...and so it goes, baby steps for right now....hugs from Julierose, La Blageuse
