JACK IS BACK;)))), et al

"Starry-eyed Jack" is my
favorite Halloween table topper...
Both Lizzy and I made
this adorable Jan Patek pattern
in 2020.
I look forward to displaying him
in a different setting each year...;)))
👻👻👻
💀
This year he is on our oak cocktail
table in front of our fireplace just
across from our kitchen area...

************************
I have begun a new puzzle:
Charles Wysocki's
"Hickory Haven Canal"
1,000 pieces...
I really enjoy his Americana
Art paintings...
[This one is from Buffalo games Co.]
Her is where I am now:

You can see that my little sorting trays are in
use; so far, I have found them a good way
to sort by color and/or theme..

C. Wysocki always manages to incorporate
one or more American flags in his works...
↡↡↡↡
It is challenging to find where they will fit...;)))
But also a lot of puzzling fun...;)))

Also there are 6 little horses
pulling all types of
wagons scattered all
over the scene--
This one will take me longer to
finish I think...

But then, I am in no hurry,
 just enjoying this journey...😇

****************
This morning DH took me for my first
visit to our "gi-normous"
Costco--holey-moley!!
👹👺👿
💣💣💣
I must admit I was totally
overwhelmed..
Everything is
SO
 "super-sized"!!!
😟😢😦😧😨😩

I am thinking----,
 "Pas pour moi"
{not for me}
I'll take my little
market any day...

  2. Love Jack and traditions. He is quite jolly!
Costco is great if they are giving free samples. Buy anything and you better have plenty of storage spaces. I'm older and can't go shopping without a driver, so I order via computer and have them deliver. They bring it into your kitchen even. I like that.

  3. I love Starry Eyed Jack! What a fun project! Your puzzle looks fun. My husband goes to Costco while I go to the small market near our house. I can shop very quickly since I know where everything is!

  4. Starry Eyed Jack is adorable! The puzzle looks like fun. The sorting trays are an excellent idea. Those big warehouse stores were great when the kids were home. Now we only go once in a while for paper goods and laundry detergent. It's so much cheaper and lasts longer. Otherwise, it's the farmer's market during season and the smaller grocery stores.

  5. Starry Eyed Jack is so cute. We have given up on Costco visits, primarily because we always ended up spending more than we planned. The nearest one is over an hour away so not worth it for us.

  6. Starry-Eyed Jack is a fun piece, Julierose! I enjoy getting out the seasonal quilted pieces every year, too, after they've been put away for many months. That looks like quite a puzzle - the sorting trays look really helpful! Costco can be quite an experience - we need to make trip there this week, too.

  7. I can see why "Jack" is a favorite. I love those star eyes.
Yes, smaller grocery stores are easier to shop at. I don't need to walk a whole warehouse for my needs.

  8. Hi, Jack! I put mine out too, along with the new Googly -eyed jacks. [They will be moved prob]. I loved our project together.

The Wysocki puzzle is o fun one. I rem buying the calendars each year w my now ex husband. We both loved the artwork and would pore thru the whole new year to find the little flags. Long ago, sadly sweet memory.

hope hand is improving. I'm going to send you the most adorable wintery project pic later. Prob too $$ but Cuuute.

    love

  9. Fun Starry-Eyed Jack! I'm sure he's happy being out of his hiding place. Lots of details on the puzzle, and great idea using sorting trays for all those small pieces.

  10. Aaw Jack is a cutie patootie! I love Jan's designs. That puzzle looks like a lot of fun. I have a couple of Christmas Charles Wysocki's that I need to work on come Christmas time. I visited my first Costco when visiting my daughter. Wowzers it was big! Have a lovely evening, Julierose. Hugs.

  11. We do shop at Costco for meat (large packages mean cook and freeze sessions that make meal prep easier later on). Toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues are much less pricey than others in our area. And our hearing aids were less than half of what the same ones cost through the hearing docs. Batteries, tires, bath towels, oatmeal, jams/jellies, and our favorite spaghetti sauce are less as well. Those savings more than cover the membership fee year after year. And I love their wider parking spaces since so many vehicles now are huge and don’t really fit in standard spots.

  12. Jack is so fierce! I am glad he gets to explore a new part of your home every year. Costco can be overwhelming. I make sure that I go in with a list, and stick to it plus allowing myself just one impulse buy. Timing is also important. I never go on weekends, unless it is the first thing in the morning, just as they open. There is a method to the madness.

  13. Jack is adorable and those sorting baskets are very helpful for puzzle making. I can see where a Costco would be overwhelming... although I think most stores are getting to be that way at this point! Have a great Sunday.... alas no F1 this week.
