WHAT'S IN THE BOX???
A Pretty Round Box--there used to be
Chocolates in there--(but we won't ask
what happened to them--will we!)
My latest hexagon project resides inside, with my fave scissors and thimble....
I've been making some progress while watching the Red Sox do
what no one predicted....WIN and win some more---yayayah!
Here's a close up of the little sections..no name as yet.pondering as I stitch......
Have a serene rainy Monday everyone,

"I LOVE the SOUND of the GENERATOR in the MORNING"...
Here's a pix of the Amtrak tunnel leading out to our beach after "Sandy" came to visit!!
We are STILL without power and have just gotten tv, phone, cell and internet back late this afternoon. Luckily, we have a generator which--my darling hubby has been handling so that we have heat and light and refrigeration.
Let me tell you how DARK-- DARKNESS can be w/o power....talk about a reality check--and we are lucky compared to NY and NJ, I hear. Our town looks like a bomb hit it; 4 ft of sand on all the roads leading to beaches, trees over wires, downed power lines etc etc.
LADIES--if EVER there was a time to use your Accuquilt Cutter: TA---DAAAAA!! Hexagon==mania took over. Crank that handle--forget the storm raging and cut, cut cut. Gotta love it!! I have a new "pansey Flower" hexagon thingey in the making.....
To the right of the house (near our beach, not our house) WAS a stairway....this WAS a sandy beach....
I cannot complain tho', our home is 60 feet above sea level and luckily none of our trees came down. We have a lot of Cedars which were whipping to the ground, but bounced back.
Today, we can get out of our street (downed trees and wires before now) and actually venture out. We even can use our Keurig Coffee Maker --it's really amazing how much a cup of coffee can mean.....
I will return to blog about more quilt-related thingeys soon..
.no school until Mon or Tuesday here and there was no Halloween...I am just grateful for what we have......Julierose, La Blageuse

HEXED by Sea Flowers
Here are those pesky hexagons sewn together:
As you can see, the sides are not even--this is the best I could do w/o unsewing (sigh!!) which I have done about ten times, it seems. It'll be a table topper, and so, who will notice???? I love the hexagon work, but need to get a "PLAN" for putting them together.
Here are some of my favorite rosettes:

Here are some of my favorite rosettes:
This one shows how the first two rows are made up of two-fabric hexies. I have a lot of rosettes left over and will be making another small quilt from those. But, in future I think strip piecing will be my method.
Also, here are all the Spider blocks all sewn up. I need to re-size so that they are even and then decide whether to sash or not or how to border them.
(Sorry for the bad picture, am having trouble with my computer sending these all over the **** and gone!!)
Do you like the spiders in their multi-colored setting or should I do color familys (eg blue-purple, red-orange, green-turquoise)???? I just don't know.
FILE UNDER: JUST A THOUGHT:
Do you ever finish sewing up what you thought all along would be a spectacular quilt and then.....you put it up on the wall and go "Yeah, so....?????" That is where I am right now. Maybe a little sewn-out.....Anyhoo.......Have a happy Valentine's Day all.....................

Are My Flowers Dying On The Vine???
Mary from Molly Flanders kindly commented on my Grandmother's flower Garden quilt-in-"trouble". She is my first commentator--how exciting is this!! Merci.....and, I think, mercy is what this quilt needs, I guess. I always seem to go about my works the hard way.
In every row that I add, it seems that I have to add one more rosette--(is that visible?)--first row had four, in order to fit, the next has five and shifts over by one----and so on aaargh----; it's like a garden growing weedier by the minute!
At any rate, I am persevering--and who knows what huuu-mun-gous "Garden" will appear.
I think I will pin it up on my design board and try some options.....
Am thinking that perhaps I could border it with all those little hexies I've prepared and not just more rosettes? Any thoughts???? [ Can you hear my brain whirring away--it did at 2 am this morning...] Maybe it's the moon....
