RSC13--BACK IN BUSINESS AT LAST

Here is the latest addition to what will be the reverse of Beach Huts--I am using almost all teal/aqua/turquoise blues in keeping with RSC13's July color choices...

I chose this fabulously funky moon/sky print to offset the darkening sunset block...

Am thinking there are so many busy prints that my borders may be just a plain light blue...still working on that.

FIONA UPDATE:

Here's what "Daddy" and Fiona did at our house last  Sunday...

She is totally entranced with my piano...yay!! Her favorite was "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"---played maybe a ga-zillion times (hahahaha)...

I am working also on Bonnie Hunter's scrappy scraps foundation piecing rectangles...

you sew four of them together into blocks--these are all leftovers and I am having so much fun--totally mindless sewing--

As you can see, I have been sewing away even though my old computer was on its last legs...Today I am posting on my brand new (Windows 8) computer which is wonderful.  Yesterday, DH helped me to set it up.  (What a guy)

I wish you all a wonderful weekend,

AND NOW, FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.....AND a Sweetie Pie

I received this counted cross stitch sampler in the mail a few days ago.  I happened upon "The Scarlet Letter" site, saw these fantastically lovely samplers and decided to give counted cross stitch a try...

Beautiful even-weave linen, floss and inside a huge chart.  This is a real challenge for me; I have done needlepoint, stamped cross and embroidery, and crewel for many years--but never counted cross stitch.  This will be a
L O N G  T E R M  project.  So far I have about 3/4ths of the border done--and I am finding it very relaxing and calming work.

Yesterday, we went to visit this sweetie pie:

(Sorry for the blur--she is almost always in motion!!)

I brought her a new "Dolly" .....

Mommy put a new "piggy tail" in her hair and we all had a lovely lunch together--it was her first time trying hot dogs--(Ummm...no they're not too hot; and --oh--they're not doggies"  Funny.)

Here we are snacking on Cheddar rice crackers--those we really like!!

We are just so blessed to have little Fiona in our family...

Hugs to all after a wonderful getaway day yesterday....Julierose, La Blageuse

Monday, Monday...Definitely Not Blue

Here's what we did yesterday...an unexpected trip up to see:  our darling FIONA:

("How BIG are you Fiona?   Sooooo---Big!" )

Who is this, Fiona?  My (dog) "ggie"--she loves her doggie and can so far say "Gie"....and 'Kota is just so tolerant and sweet, too.

She even has a "doggie" tee shirt....

We had a lovely day...Julierose, La Blageuse

HELLO, DOLLIES.......

I saw this cute "Dolly" fabric when Fiona was first born and knew I would like to use it for her first "big girl" bed quilt:

And in my ever-ongoing effort to USE UP my scraps I have made up these blocks as a beginning:

I have been sewing bits and pieces of precious scraps  into little sections and then adding them to the "Dolly" centers--such fun--I don't know if I'll float them or sash or what yet, but I figure I need a head start for this quilt.  My long-term project.  The reverse of this two-sided quilt will be Santa Claus time fabrics for the holidays.

Fiona will be 10 mos old on the 15th--ALREADY!!  She is pulling herself up and wanting to "GO!".

She sure loves "Da-Da"....

Best of weekends to you all, love to hear your comments--
Mmmmmwah!

P.S.  Do you know of anyone who needs really little snippets for those fused quilt projects, I have a ton of them and would be happy to send them instead of throwing them away--I hate waste!!  ;-))
