Summer Snowballs: Using up leftovers is continuing.....
[please ignore this old, stained June Taylor pressing board ;000]
I had cut a whole lot of solid 3.5" squares and small triangles a while
back when I made my first big snowball quilt....
that turned into this,
now waiting for a backing....
I used a square by square controlled color scheme in that one...with just blue and white corners....

Meanwhile these leftovers are random--
with a predominance of beige and black squares
and both solid and batik triangles...
here are the next four using green centers
ready to be sewn together...
I love making snowballs- most especially because
I can trim them up using scissors....
thus avoiding the dreaded rotary cutter...
just a few solids left,
but..............
A whole lot of batiks...
As usual, I am sewing "without a net" and don't know how this will
end up...but making the parts is so joyous....
I love this randomness; and the way that
things happen and
color combos pop up unexpectedly..
I have a LOT of black and beige solid squares so they will be the
main feature in some way.....
And I figure mostly of the batiks will corner them...

Tonight's dinner will be hot dogs on the grill with coleslaw and
french fries...easy meal for a hot, humid day....it is really overcast
and very "close" feeling out there...luckily we have AC to keep
us cool and comfortable--
