SOME PROGRESS, et al

Here are the "starting" color stacks of my prints....

[I say "starting" as I haven't gotten
into my bins, boxes,
and bags as yet to pull fabrics out...
but there are not really
all that many fabrics left!!
I may have to go "shopping" to round
out some colors as you can tell from the
smaller stacks...--too bad hahaha]

The two bigger bins on the left top hold
whites and "I don't know where
to put these?" prints...
and my Jolly Bars and 10"
precuts...
and
You can just spy my leftover
bindings bin on the top right...

Here are my solids on the right
still in bins but not
yet re-folded...
I don't seem to use solids
very much so I think storing
 them in bins will work--
at least for now.

All my jelly rolls, etc are stored in this blue bin
on my bottom shelf
and so far my shirtings reside in that plastic
zippy bag next to the pinks/reds bin....

I will be re-assessing these after I have
gotten into my top shelf
pictured below

I did find my long-lost quilt labels fabric during my
search--so that is good...I need to label a lot
of my finished pieces...;)))

And
While I am sorting and folding I am
coming across lots of little pieces that are now
here

A new collection of 2.5" squares ready to go;))))

I am using my old Accuquilt Go! Baby
cutter and the 2.5" die--even though it has
dulled a lot with age...👾

Lots of these smaller pieces lined up to be cut...
(Does anyone know of a way
 a way to sharpen dies?)

***********************
While doing this I've felt the need to
break my "no buy" pledge:

So I began with these two great little
Halloween fabrics that I found on sale:

AND
I plan on using them to make my grandgirls--
Willa and Fiona --Halloween placemats...
I think they are just so cute;)))

So far so good--I am resting
this afternoon after putting
in another 45 minutes this
morning...
I need to pamper my back a bit...

KAWANDI DEUX, et al

I've been wanting to make another
Kawandi-style piece
since I finished this little
practice one:
↧↧↧↧↧↧
I learned a lot making this....
and I really like the process--
so different...and so
nice and scrappy...

One thing for sure--I want to stitch
in closer rows this time and with more
lines of quilting ,,,

Could this turn out to be
"Daughter of Dark Days"????

(See the uneven stitching? )
I may take it all out and re-do them--
S  I  G  H..
but if I don't I
KNOW it will bother me...so
before I get any farther on the border...
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbiting...

It's hard for me to sew on a table without
leaning forward too much
and hurting my back; so,
I will pin the pieces in place for
one whole side and then
(I know it's not really done that
way traditionally)  I will to sew as
usual  in my lap.

I am just using stash and scraps
on hand and that is revealing that I have
a whole lot of "darks" and
not that many "lights" of every
color stack...

Since I've been taking out
one color at a time and
refolding them
(so I even can tell WHAT I
have in there!! What a mess!!)
I figured this would be a good time to
set up a new Kawandi-style piece...
[You can see the piles of fabrics on
my table above...]

And....in other news...
↡↡↡
We have a lot of green tomatoes, but none have, as yet, turned red...

***********************
It is a lovely day; low humidity and cooler with a nice
Northerly breeze....
We had our coffee out on the deck--
Aaaahhhh..
.
Nice slow start to the day...
