I
actually SEWED the first curved seam this morning....
💙💙 YAY💓💓
I finally have a general I D E A of what I want direction I want to take .
[The other curves are just pinned in place for now....
and I think that last piece on the 2nd curve, the green and print, has
to be taken off]
I sewed a basting line on the lavender one first; and then I pressed under
1/4" right on the basting line before sewing it to the peach curved seam.....
I used both sides of the printed fabric for some variety....
AND
That's my progress so far.....that's enough excitement for today.....
I need to sit down and have a cuppa tea...;))))

"O WHAT HAVE I WROUGHT??"
[SHE ASKED HERSELF]
AND HOW SHALL I BEGIN...........?💫💫
I've used up all the pre-cut wedges;
All these fabrics are from left over pieces:
from just under a 1/4 yd to
leftover pieces of fat 1/4's
to just orts....
Most pieces range from 4"-6" long with some pieces
sewn together to make that length as needed--
the width varies....
I didn't plan for 4 groups to emerge; they just sort of did.....
The gold one
The deep purple one
The mostly solid one and
the batik one..........
there was no way I could just go with solids...
Even here on my 1st piece I HAD to add a bit of pattern...
************************************************
Now, I need to sit and look at them
before I commit....
My whole wall is in motion.......
A whirling dervish of parts.....
***********************************************
The only thought I have right now is that I'd like to begin with
darkness in the middle or center.....growing lighter outward

Here is my "enhanced" fabric pull for my improv project...
I have added 3 more light "print fabrics"--
well, one is a bit brighter but
it fits in with my theme.....
I've cut 6.5" wedges and am going to make curves...as in Sherri Lynne
Woods' "Get Your Curve On" in her improv book...
I was leaning toward her floating squares score,
but I've done a lot of "square" works,
and I thought this might be a change
and a challenge for me...
I truly don't know where this is going:
no road maps,
no GPS,
no Atlas--
just kind of "off-road" meandering ....
seeing where this sewing will take me...
Here's a closer look at the two new prints added on the left ,
and
that brighter one is at the top right...
I had to separate the lighter peaches and white as they
are very close in color and difficult to tell apart....↓ far right below
I also have used bits and pieces--scraps; so I had to sew two colors together
sometimes in order to make up the 6.5" lengths...
Then I free-cut the wedges...no ruler at all ....they are all the same height,
but all slightly differing widths...
As I said, who knows what will come out of this...
We shall see....I am a bit hesitant, but going to try it...;))))
