Thom and I listened to Beethoven's 1st Piano Concerto this morning
(which I performed at 18--so many eons ago now as part of my
College audition) ;
and had a S L O W morning....
over coffee and cinnamon toast...
chit-chatting about our days at Hartt College...and relaxing.
Christmastime is made for memories....

This is where I left off in...................OMG:  in JULY --😓😕😢😞😞
see there, I'm out on our deck,
quilting away...meantime................in between time...........

my poor Pomegranates have languished in my tote bag
since then.  YUP, nada quilting.....

I guess I just lost my M O J O for this project. :<((( 

I visited Kathy's quilts this morning for her Slow Sunday Stitching 
posting and  immediately thought about Poms...
they are resting underneath a side table that
I face in our tv room...all the time...
and I have AVERTED my
                                                  👀 (eyes)

up until this morning. 

Kathy stated it well...we do get discouraged (or at
least I have) once in a while...
even though this is one of my favorite quilts...

So, today I am (seriously) going to pick it up 
(I can see the excitement shaking the tote bag over there 
as I write this lol) 
and just tell myself--
one row just one row.;}}}}
and see what happens.  While I watch the Patriots Game in here....

Thanks so much, Kathy for airing out this frequent quilting problem that
seems to  arise now and then...for me, at least....and cheering us on....

Sunday dinner tonight will be Thom's (aka hubby, hubster, Dear One, 
Mr. Wonderful) marinara sauce and spaghetti noodles...so nice and light...
and a day off cooking for me YAY!!!
 (yesterday I made Bean soup for our dinner--which is a recipe with many
steps).
He claims his back (which he threw out last Tuesday night)
needs for him to move around and he has a "taste" for
marinara today...Right now he's on the heating pad and doing his computer
stuff--something about plane spotting and ADSB ...urgh!!👴

So you see, no excuses, I just need to get to that hand quilting...
RIGHT???......(stay tuned to see wha' hoppen ;}}} )

My little scissors magnet kept me company. About 1/3rd of little side triangle...

AUTUMNAL GOAL

                My goal for this Autumnal Season is to try to finish up quilting on my
                                                POMEGRANATES IN THE RAIN

I have two more side triangles and four corners to quilt.....is this do-able given the state of
my arm/shoulder problem???💭

Well, a few lines each day is how I am going to roll with this.

I really love how this is coming out and want to see it finished.

I've Begun quilting the side triangles on Pomegranates in the Rain.....

This is a really long term project....so....

hand problems and hand working these days--it keeps running through my head--Dr. Seuss reminding me to put my work down frequently and to rest....;))) (Ah yes, my 2nd childhood...)

EDITED on June 30th--Dropping out of the temp project as the hexagon templates were not only difficult (if not impossible) to remove and  tore when I tried to remove them,
and totally distorted the edges of the little hexagons and left
so much glue residue that the project is unsalvagable...Live and learn...I couldn't even try to iron them
as the threads on the raw edges raveled too....aaarrrggghhh...not good....

And so it goes.....

RAINING POMEGRANATES

This is well-named--we have had rain all week as I bring out my pieces that took a
backseat while I finished all the family lap quilts....

Today I am stitching my allotted 3 lines of quilting so my hand/arm will not side-
line me..

Joining in with Kathy at SLOW SUNDAY STITCHING..

You can see how far I've gotten on this last full square...the other "rainy spots" for quilting
are triangles along all the sides--so this will be my Summer baseball-watching, deck-sitting
project by hand...

LONG TIME NO SEE

                                                    Hello, Hello everyone...
I am finally feeling well enough to do a little hand stitching on my 
well-loved Pomegranates in The Rain............

                       See, I got another rainy block done...

it took me about one and one-half weeks of sporadic stitching and
many in-between naps....;ooo

I have been MIA with both family issues and my own bout with sinus and ear infections and just feeling totally crummy....not so sure it wasn't that flu bug that started it all off...I felt like a mack truck slammed into me....and I had gotten the flu shot, too...and it has left me  still coughing up a storm; 
But, I am beginning to  feel human once again ;)))

Lack of any energy has kept me just doing the necessary things around here 
and driving hubster to and from hospital for more testing...

Today I am making my own brand of "medicine"--;)))
                                      Chicken soup--
                             good for the soul on this frigidly cold day..

It should go down a treat tonight....with those little round soup crackers--

My design wall is totally blank and my projects, started "way back when"
{lost in the mists of time}, are in my drawer patiently awaiting my interest
to return and my energy....I just cannot seem to get my mojo back.

I did get a gift card to Missouri Star Quilt Co. for Christmas, and 
I picked out some fabrics; I am hoping this will activate my sewing 
desire when they arrive.

My daily journal is no more than a listing of all my meds, aches and pains and
hubster's medical issues...hopefully those will be dealt with for the final time in the near future....
And sometimes, "so it goes"....

VERY SLOW SUNDAY

My defense against the L O N G E S T feeling day of the year....don't know whether I'm hungry or tired or what....I hate this time change.  At least i get to sleep in longer, i guess.:ooo
Anyhoooooo..............

I have this little corner and one more big block to finish before i can move onto the side triangles...
I am joining in with Kathy and her friends doing some slow stitching by hand...

i also have finally put this one to bed:

Finito...It will be my Christmas table topper this year--finally!! this is from sometime around the 1990's that i began the hand pieced hexagons...

and while I stitch away with two little mint Milano cookies I am savoring this:

POMEGRANATES IN THE RAIN

                        I'll be slow Sunday stitching on my "Pomegranates in The Rain" today.....

do drop in at Kathys and see what we are all slowly stitching on today.....;))) (sigh...aaahhhh).

Now that my two "I Spy" quilts are finished, 
I can concentrate on my hand stitching....

the muted tones of this leaf-ey batik along with the quilt stitching looks like a rainy day to me...I really love the effect....very soft and impressionistic....and, so Pomegranates have
morphed into "Pomegranates in The Rain".....

AND...
while I stitch, I am deciding, pondering whether or not  I should add more quilting around those Poms....and just cannot decide....the plain, lavender fabric does give the eye a resting spot though....but, lots of time to make that decision....

This piece and my (knitted) HAPpy shawl will be my main focus as long term projects..
slowly, slowly....restfully, woolgathering......................

I have finished a LOT of projects and quilts this past year and one-half....I am a bit 
weary and need a respite ....

I just don't know what to start---so I won't for right now,
 but rather.....
I plan to slowly re-organize my space and my stash(es) of: 

fabric, thread, scrapping papers, ephemera, wools, patterns, beads, crafting books
and.... bits and bobs that I most likely have even forgotten I have on hand....

And to re-think my direction --
