A FUNKIFIED FLIMSY--FINALLY

Log Cabins are now corralled
into a
FLIMSY
💃
Whoever said that log cabins
are a snap
WAS
SO WRONG!!
Whoa, Mama!!
👵😢

I used all scraps and chunks
of fabrics in my stash for
this one and cut the logs
with my Accuquilt cutter--
BUT...
Uhhhh
I neglected to check
which way the
BIAS
ran!

So a lot of the logs are bowed....
Plus, for some reason,
I didn't notice this until I began sewing
all the blocks together...

UGH

Then
I had to trim all the edges
BUT......

this still left the insides
"bowing and scraping"!

And so it stays--
for
no way
will I
take this
apart and fix it...
(Nope, nada,
no way Jose!)

**********************
This will be a utility cover-up
quilt for our cool
evening tv watching...
(emphasis on utility!!)
👀👀
😂😂😂

And so it goes...
sometimes you win and
sometimes....
not....
*************************
Despite it all, I did enjoy making
this one and I do like the colors...

So, when you enlarge this one,
people,
judge me not
before you
make a cornerstone log cabin
yourselves ;))))

LOG CABIN CENTERS

THIS IS WHAT I DID TODAY...

I made 12 more
little hourglass centers for my
Log Cabin Loonies SAL

I now have 28 made...
:))))
I have to decide yet
how many I want to make.

JulieK's making 60
blocks
on her SAL.

I was sewing along
with my little OWLET
pin holder...

Isn't she the cutest???

I have a kit to make
another one
waiting
in the wings.

************************
I didn't do any geese quilting
today...giving my hands
a bit of a rest...

LOG CABIN LOONIES RIDE AGAIN!

is re-instating her
"Log Cabin Loonies"
Sew Along this
Year...

I have my center pieces stored in this
Whitman Sampler Tin

I cut them with my Go! Baby!
die cutter this afternoon

a deep, rich red
and
a white grunge--
to be made into
little, teeney
hourglasses
for the log cabin centers..
WHAT FUN!!

I have yet to decide what the other colors
will be to use as the logs...

but I am leaning toward grays and
deep blues...

I need to check out what's
in my deep stash...;)))

this along with RSC are my two choices
for some group sewing.
Meanwhile I have been
continuing on with my Geese
and the x-stitched
butterflies--only
ONE MORE
after this one...
[I am getting
Butterflied-out a bit!!]

**********************
I hope you have a wonderful evening.
Tom and I began watching the
Netflix Series of
"Outlander"
It is fascinating...

Take care, try to stay calm
and safe...
