MARU-GATA KIMMI, et al

I finished the hand quilting on Maru-Gata Kimmi this morning...

She is preparing for her Japanese Tea Ceremony (back)

I just love these tea urns and tea pots.....↕↕↕↕↕

This fabric seemed so perfect for the backing...

***************************************
It is SUPER windy here this morning --
I am not a big fan of that constant sound...
So far, the highest gust up here at
The House on the Hill
was 22 mph...
Steady at 10-15 though...

Here ↡↡↡↡ is my
light blue box for RSC April

Along with some long paper strips from an old phone book..

I wonder what will emerge from these this month?

And here are my first three 9" blocks for the KING SIZED
Courthouse Steps bed quilt--

[Sorry for the darkish pix--very gray and cloudy here today...]
Truth be told
I began just sewing them willy-nilly together and they all
came out differing sizes (DUH!!)

So I have begun finishing those off onto the 9"
muslin squares adding strips
as needed...
a true Improv

I am finding it hard to find old-fashioned or
vintage looking florals and tone on tone
fabrics for this project...but,
I think some tone on tone batiks look okay though...
{See the last white-ish strips above}

Anyway--fun figuring out for sure...
