but more to come I am happy to see...;)))

My pretty raspberry lily covered in

And my lavender really came up
well this year...⇊⇊⇊
I will cut some for drying

resting my back/shoulders in preparation for
finishing off the machine binding of
SIL's quilt....

We've had thunder. lightning and hail storms all afternoon...
Finally 2.36 " of much needed rains...

I managed to sew binding on the front of SIL's quilt
tomorrow I will sew it onto the back...
I have it all ironed over and pinned in place:
This is one BIG KA-HOONA of a quilt;0000
It is laid out on my ironing board

This will be the last of my

Sunday Stack↑↑↑

Four more little  Orange finishes...
Flying Geese trials...

"H" quilt blocks
(sorry it's sideways --oops!!)

Crumb pieces with↟↟↟
Orange Slices
Broken Dishes Star

These are the last of the Oranges...
They were all made for RSC Orange Month.

I may use them for table toppers or table mats;
or for little dolly quilts for Willa and Fiona.

I am calling an end to the RSC bindings for a while...
I placed my "16 Patches Squared"
in this configuration as a trial

The "reds" form a cross in this 5 x 7 setting...

I have trimmed up SIL's Zig Zag quilt and have the binding to hand
Tomorrow I will sew that on...

While this spurt of energy lasts, I am trying to get
as many done as feasible....

But for the rest of this Sunday I will be reading and

"Pomegranates in the Rain" is bound;)))

Here are views from left to right showing the hand quilting of the "rain" on the batik blocks
and the binding that moves from one purple-y color to the next....
And here it is inside

this is my first big  applique quilt and I am
thrilled that it is done...
Modern batiks amid prim pomegranates...

This morning's sewing
was preceded by making a lasagna
for our dinner tonight
(and for leftovers to freeze).
I think perhaps I was still asleep while
putting the lasagna together...
fingers crossed that it
will come out right....;)))πŸ’€

It is very humid here, but not too warm
just feels that way....

I have Steve's quilt (the big ka-hoon-a--
oh --the quilt not him-- hahaha)
left to do...
that will involve a few days' work...
Hoping to begin tomorrow...

Really Relaxing...;)))

We are hoping for a rainy day tomorrow when the storms sweep through

I am on a mission to finish up all the little quilts
I have made for RSC so far and others....
Above is the 1st finish
of an embroidered teapot...

this little lovely was from a Humble Quilts
Sew Along

RSC Orange month Semi Circle

RSC Teal Month

And finally,
RSC blue Semi Circles
This fits on my dining table nicely ↓↓↓
They were all fun to hand quilt πŸ’–

I am now prepping the next group of UFO's to trim up and bind
I've found so many hanging in my spare room closet
that I feel I really want to get them D O N E
before I begin any new projects....
There are also some bits and pieces that I will
put into my "Spare Parts" box
(which I have just started..)

It is really so hot and humid here today
when you step outside it's like a sauna...

For you folks who have asked how I am feeling..
My πŸ’«πŸ’« spells have
calmed down a lot...
But, am still moving slowly...

I hope this finds you all safe and healthy...

Some of you long time followers here,
will recall that while my Mom was in
the Nursing Home, I made her this
cute little pillow.

While cleaning out her room after she had passed,
I came across it;  and it was in pretty bad shape;
so, I took it home; and I carefully took it all apart'
 and I resewed all the
pieces together....
I have now remade it into this:
A little table topper ;)))

Here is the back
This recalls our early camping days..
and my kitty Schumee who loved
my Mom....

This was a fun little project...

I hope you are all well and staying safe

I am finally finished with making 16-Patches Squared
                        from my jelly roll strips...

I have ended up with 38 blocks...
these are the last 8 (above)
They comprise the lightest group of centers..
And, as yet, I have no idea what
I will be making with them...

I have been battling vertigo for the past few days...and have been
avoiding cutting (!) and machine sewing (!). I have no idea what has
triggered this condition, but I am starting to feel better today...

~ ~ ~ waving from homebase,

Stay safe all, it's not over yet....

MUTE MONDAY (almost)

                                                      ↑↑↑↑ Journal extract...
I am a bit "under the weather"

Be back in a few days.....

Going to be hand quilting my Franken Christmas quilt

The stitches don't show as much on the Christmas Doggy print,
                          but show up beautifully on
                                                the Franken blocks...

I am out on our deck this morning; and I am glad of the quilt on my lap
as it is a bit  on the chilly side with the sun
                                                         going in and out.....

                                                        Here is a Sunny picture.....
                                                   { I just πŸ’“ that Lady print }

I will be quilting along the vertical seam lines --
one line of stitching on the doggy print,
and one right next to it on the franken blocks....

I hope your Saturday is a good one...
Stay safeπŸ‘‹πŸ‘΅

I altered this old cookbook to become my
                                           next few  months'
I removed at least 2/3rds of the pages and then glued two pages together throughout
for strength.

The front inner cover has a pocket I made to house two pens (black and white inks)
and some papers ....

Here are a sampling of some altered pages:  In this one I am tearing papers from
magazines, deli papers, and my dried teabag holders also....

I am leaving the original
illustrations for food
throughout as they are in
such beautiful colors....
and I can write around them..

I am collaging throughout these pages; and I
                                      will be doodling,
                                                    writing thoughts,
                                                              and ideas for future projects....
I've set up my months like this:
                                  HERE IS:   ↥↥↥    J U L Y 's calendar....to be filled in...

AND below....
A sampling of how I can write on collaged papers ⇊⇊⇊
Using illustrations from many magazines, old books,
                                     as well as  fabric scraps here and there;
on some pages I will be using
                                                 Gesso and then watercolor washes.....

The TORN edges mirror my feelings and thoughts
about our world in these difficult days.....just writing in my normal
Franklin is not enough for now....

I hope you are finding some outlets for your emotions --I find that this kind of
solitary work and writing {along with my sewing} helps me to deal with all of this....
What kind of a world are we in?????

"4TH of July Baskets"  is finished....
                                    All hand quilted; binding by

I decided that it needed my Grand-mere's old buttons
that I
45 buttons in all
This one has a lot of Lizzy's  fabrics on it...
                                    thanks so much Lizzy;)))

The back has cute little ducks on it from an
                                  Old Layer Cake...

I like the mix of my husband's old shirts and pj's--
                           and the flowered fabrics....

I am happy with this outcome....;)))

All I have left to do now are the hanging straps
(from leftover binding strip)and the label....
and she will be ready
        to hang for July 4th..;)))

Now to make the binding for my SIL's Zig Zag--I will be working on that
this week......
Stay safe
