Here are my three efforts for Tues, Wed, and today--Thursday.
I am enjoying adding bits of fabric along with my embroideries...
on some blocks...I am striving to get smaller stitches--as
opposed to the "big stitch" quilting I am used to doing..
Today (Thurs) is the leftover bit of Butterfly fabric.
We have been seeing a whole lot of butterflies flitting about
in our dingle which is full of late Summer
Honeysuckle bushes..
Also, during the early morning, it seems just millions
of bees are seeking sustenance there, too...
you can hear the soft
buzzing when it is quiet...

I finished my hand quilting on Sunny Days:
I now need to look for a good binding fabric...
**************************
I have also finished the embroidery on
my "Grieving and Moving On"
piece honoring my parents' passing ,,
Every seam is hand stitched--no machine
work on this--- as it was a slow stitching
project to help me deal with their loss...
I hand dyed the tan fabrics and sun-cynotype-
dyed the blues with pieces of my
maternal Grand-mere's crochet pieces
and
various ferns and leaves...
As an only child, all of us
were very close and
I felt totally devastated
as they each passed on...
The two hearts on the bottom
are my Mom and Dad
entwined together forever--
And the top heart above represents me,
having to move on without them...
There is a lot of satin stitching on
this that
took me
this last 10 years
to work on whenever I
actually could deal
with working on it...
I now need to decide if I
should add more to this
piece--...
I had thought of side
borders of hand woven strips
for how our lives were
so deeply woven together..
I am still deciding...
plus it will need to be quilted...
