HAPPY BATIK BORDERS IN HEXAGONIA

I found this very old Batik in my pile and pulled it out today just because it was brown, but I think I really like it:

What do you think? Kind of "garden-looking" for my flowers....

I like ithe way it gathers all the shades of brown and lets the flowers pop out even more....

Like here --- and

here...I really tried all different colors and was really frustrated and  not finding anything that looked good.  I think this leafy batik makes me very happy.  I tend to buy fabric not for specific projects, but because they "speak" to me....how about you?

Now, I am going to handquilt this one--and I promise -- no more "Diamonds Are Forever" until it is totally done....Julierose, La Blageuse

 P.S.  have you been following the brouhaha about fabric designers?  Astounding, disappointing and unbelievable, I feel.  Especially for "scrappy" quilters.....

Sewing the last row together--one long row takes 1 1/2 hours  (5 rows later.....sigh) --I think that after this sojourn into "Hexagonia", I will try something else for a while (ya think???):

I am "daffy" myself--

I set my goal this week to FINISH the whole interior of my "Diamonds Are Forever" tabletopper (glad I didn't go for a bed-sized quilt (oh my), and am stitching away today....between little stitches and pulling out papers....my "get up and go" has "gotten up and gone"....Have a wonderful weekend....Julierose, La Blageuse

MUTE MONDAY...(muffled frustration)

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER--OR AT LEAST IT FEELS THAT WAY!

I am attempting to put these diamonds together---

They are pinned (those little yellow dots) to my design wall--I need to add at least one more and then a gazillion more hexies and half-hexies....

The Red Sox are on tv now, and being a huge (or as Jerry Remy would say "uuge") fan, I can see a lot of this work going on in the Spring and Summer evenings to come.....

I do like that "bubblegum pink" outlining color--these diamonds are about 15 years old--fabric tastes do change, but I just cannot stand to have them calling me from the close every time I walk by to: "finish us, finish us up"...and so...mes amies....

On we go--and I guess it is true that "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend".....
