KAWANDI PROGRESS, et al

Here are some
"in progress" photos as I
continue working on my
Kawandi-style table runner:

Above is the first sewing round;

and below
The next round with added pinned-
in place fabrics; the cool colors end here
and
The "warm" colors end here.

[you can see the new rows of
stitches in varying colors of threads...]
.
I am trying to make it a "rainbow-like"
piece with blues and purples
moving across the middle area.

My dining room table--as a result--
 is a total mess
of fabrics as I search for
fabrics that move into adjacent
colors well...

Not that easy just using what I have
on hand--which are mostly prints...
And here you can see that I have added more fabrics
around...just that middle area now to be covered.
But I need to do more stitching around and around
and around .... sigh....

These last few rounds where the blues/purples and
reddish colors meet are the most difficult
to figure out...so that they "flow"
together a bit...

I am tempted to just fill in the center with a
multicolored print and call it done!!

Our temps and dewpoints have dropped
considerably today so we are able to
sit out on our deck for morning coffees.
...
My daughter is on her way down here
for lunch with us armed with
grinders for us all;)))

So looking forward to catching up with
her and my grands' doings...

KWANDI CONTINUES....et al

I've been looking at my Kawandi sitting on my glass top living room
table and thinking---something is missing--something just doesn't
look "finished" to me.....
the stitching looks like "basting"...

And so....
I have begun adding more quilting lines, closer together across the top...
trying to follow the basting lines ....
there is no batting to "catch" knots  at the end of lines
so i have to carefully pull my needle through just the top layer to bury the knots...
or through turned under seams if possible...

It is already looking better to my 👀
I've started in the middle and am working
my way out switching directions
to try to follow the basting lines--

I would like to make a larger purple
Kawandi and this time would definitely
use more and closer stitching lines
during the beginning....instead of
an afterthought...

Live and learn, huh???
This may not be in the original concept of
Kawandi, but it is in my own
"Style",,,,;))))

Pink Ojos is bordered and ready
to be layered
 As is:
My Little Baskets...

Here is a snap of our Sunday treat
before our dinner of
Swedish Meatballs over
Yukon gold potatoes--YUM!!
Rose Prosecco is my favorite....
💃

A lovely, cool morning here saw us
taking a stroll down by the CT
Riverside on the boardwalk....
how refreshing that was...
:)))))
Now to go
Out to finish my cuppa coffee on our
deck...
😍😎
