JOURNAL OF STITCHERY, et al

Page One:
"Bouncing Bunny and Lace"
is almost finished...
I need to outline bunny to make
her stand out more, I think...
I wanted a subtle page, but
she really melts into the
background too much...

Here is the intermediate photo
when I had added
those bits of florals at the bottom left
before I sewed them on...

*******************
Month Two's
prompt is:
"Neutrals + Flowers"

Here is my base
that I have invisibly
basted down so i
won't have to
deal with
pins...
↡↡↡↡
I used bits and bobs from
my Crazy Quilt leftovers...

I have also cut out some small circles to
make some suffolk puffs
that will become flower heads...

You can just see them on the top
right on my new wool mat
which, by the way, is just
perfect to sew upon...;)))

I have also searched through my
buttons to maybe add a few
of those somewhere...

It's all a bit of a muddle
in my mind right now...
Seems that's how it goes...
This is all so new to me, I have trouble
figuring out what kind of
final embroidery to add
and where to add it!
👵😏

**********************
Yesterday Tom and I got boosted
and this morning I have quite a
sore arm and a bit of a head-achey
feeling...but not too bad really.

***********************
I have used my "Kismet"
fabric for these:

These are the six hexagon flowers
I've made since last August...
Right now I have two more
in the works--
this
is my slow project...

I usually
work on them while watching tv.
I have two more in the works
right now...
***********************
FYI for those of you who have
asked how I am doing:

I am coming along after my 2nd epidural,
2 1/2 weeks ago now;
and have been cleared to
begin exercising and gentle
short walking...

[and allowed to get my
booster
shot...]

It is a gorgeous sunny, if still chilly
day here (winds out of the NW
are always cold)

I hope you all have a wonderful
EASTER or PASSOVER
HOLIDAY
🐇🐇🐇

WALKING, et al

I am finally able to walk
for short bits...
Hurrah!!!!

Here is my Shadow Self
walking down our front path...

F Y I :
I had my epidural shot last
Tuesday afternoon
and so I was pretty much
immobile until today.

{It was a LOT more painful than
I expected, but I got through it!!}

Shoes on, heavy coat and
S U N S H I N E
compelled me to begin
my route back to walking...

It is so wonderful to be outside
and breathing in the fresh air
while MOVING around!!
:)))

Tom set up this chair for me
so that I can rest in between
my  short Jaunts :D

↡↡↡↡
Right by our front garden spot

************************
AND:
Hello fellow knitters!!
Look at how far I've gotten!!

I have reached the spot right
before I begin to turn my heel
on the 2nd sock of this pair...
E X C I T I N G !!
😀😊😍
******************************
AND

I took out my little bin of
cut-off 1/2 sq triangles and
began to lay out  a little
fun zig-zag pattern...
Gosh, I love how it looks!!
So scrappy...

As soon as I can sit and sew
I will be putting them together...

AND

Here are some paired and ready to be sewn together...
I really am hoping to get these sewn
this weekend???I know I have
to go slowly, but I am very encouraged
after this shot--hoping, fingers crossed,
etc, etc...
👍👵💗
that I will continue to improve--

[It has been such a long
7 months of pain
and distress...I truly
would not wish this on anyone!!]
*******************************
HERE IS...TAH-DAH

MY LITTLE BOX
which
has sat beside me all
throughout this
challenging journey--
AND
here is what I've managed to
 hand sew:
👏👏👏
I had (luckily) pre cut
these with my Go! Baby
die cutter before this all
happened..

{These are in the "Kismet"
fabric line--which I love--
all peaches and maroons=
yummy!!}

So.....
I have quite a few
sewn and ready to
put together...

I want to cut more as
I have still not decided
how I do want to put
them together...
************************************
I know I promised
NOT TO BUY
ANY NEW FABRIC THIS YEAR,
S I G H ....

but, Tom, my Sweet Baboo,
💖💝💝
 convinced me to
purchase this lovely
Layer Cake to lift my spirits
a bit...
↓↓↓

And it surely did!!
:)))

**********************
This is where I am at right now...

I have to apologize if I didn't
answer all your wonderful good wishes
and comments --I am hoping
to be back here with some things
to show you...more often now..

Hugs and thanks to you all,

MY LITTLE BOX

My Little Box
is
set up
for hand sewing 👋

The lowest layer
contains tools
A Needle Threader
has become
ESSENTIAL
these days!!

And
this is the top = Working
Layer...

Voila!!
As you can now see...
I am once again
Traveling to

H E X A G O N I A.

Allows me to pass
these resting hours...

And Below is the 2nd layer
with the hexies sewn on papers...
they are mounting up
pretty quickly...

I am using the
"KISMET"
fabric line for all the
hexagons.
I 💝this line.

I have yet to decide
what form the finished
piece will take...

For right now,,,,
just sewing, sewing
and more sewing...

I like these big wheels☝
of hexies

And👇
this idea, too...
But we shall see
*****************
I am still waiting on the "call"
from the MD...
So I  am trying to pass
the time.
Reading, and re-reading books,
knitting
and now sewing
hexagons...

SUNDAY DECK STITCHING

Today dawned cool and dry
So,
We took our coffee out on
the deck.
Then...
I continued sewing my
hexagons together...
I have just
three more to add and my
table topper will be finished..
↧↧↧↧
I am doing the easy whip
stitch on these.
This is my preferred way
of joining hexagons...
Very relaxing sewing...

and I  use my little clips
to hold the seams in place.

I am happy that I can
showcase this lovely
bird and flower print
in these larger hexies...
with this surround of
what's left of my blue
Roses
*********************

I hope your Sunday is restful
and relaxing...

WIP-ing

I have the left 9 blocks sewn
together
(but not in rows yet as
I will be re-arranging them)
And have begun on the next
group of 9
If you click on the image
you can see that I am using
MSQco papers for stringing...
AND
strangely enough
it doesn't look like my scrappy
strings have diminished
at all!!
👀😧
Go figure!!

***********************
This WIP
is coming along,
but I am taking a
rest as my hands
flared up from hand quilting...

It is coming along...
S L O W L Y
but,
I knew this would be a long
term project when I began
and I am okay with that...
It is a pleasure to quilt these
lovely fabrics...

***********************
Here is my 2nd fabric for my
Hexagons
Project WIP
another long term one...
but such fun...
👵💗
An all-time favorite ;))

I have decided to USE
my special fabrics-
I mean What in the World
am I saving them for??
😦
*******************
The sun has actually deigned to come out this Sunday..
With the snow on the ground
it is quite cold still..
not up to even freezing as yet...
I hope you are all safe and staying warm
and having a sew-wonderful
Day.

HEXAGONIA-- HERE I COME

I began working on my
new hexagon hand project
this morning ...
along with my coffee;)))
*********************

[But first, I---
Dusted (on hands and knees to get those
pesky baseboards that hold all those
dust bunnies--ooof!!)
and swept up my sewing room. ]

*********************************
I first saw these hexagons on a
Missouri Star Quilt Co.
youtube video--
And I was just charmed by the fact that
your piece is finished in
a single sewing..

{Also, my blogging friend,
DEB  (click to see)
is making these for part
of her RSC project
this year. Hop on over and
take a look at her take
on these;))) }

The batting is layered inside and
the little folded binding holds
all 3 layers together...

I have prepped
5 more:
I wanted to finish using the rest
of this French text fabric so that
it was really readable--
and this is the perfect
setting for it, don't
you think? :)))

Here is the backing I will be using
for all the ones I make
↓↓↓↓
Definitely wishing for
Springtime to come...

Here is my little basket with all the
"necessaries"
so I can tote my project around the house

(I mean where else do I
go these days, S I G H )

💘All ready 💘
👵

**************************
I want to thank all of you
who sent me such encouraging
comments and ideas for my
Log Cabin dilemma....

I truly appreciate all of your
super kind comments...
👄👄👄

**********************
I have a Roast beef
(bottom round) cooking
in my Slo cooker;
and have peeled my
potatoes
for dinner tonight.

I will make my gravy
right in the crock pot, so
it is almost one pan cooking..

I will add steamed string beans
with almonds
as our side veg.

************************
We had another 3" of snow overnight
but everything seems to be melting
in our weak sunshine...

And so has my day begun....

I hope you are all well
staying safe and
😷-ed
