After hemming and hawing about
how to approach Page Three
of my Fabric Stitchery Journal:
"Reclaimed Fabric and Butterfly"--
I finally decided to draw out my
own butterfly template.
I learned that I am no
artist and this is
a lot harder than I
imagined!!
😟😕😣
Then, once I was satisfied,
I transferred it to
Aida cloth with a frixion pen
and I now am outlining
it in black Perle Cotton..
I got this far this morning...
working it in black,
using slow stem stitch...
UMMMMM....

[
[You will notice that
The sides are not really
mirror images--after
fiddling back and forth for what
seemed like forever trying
to draw that;;;;
I just decided that my butterfly
will be a "fantastical" one;)))
and I moved on.]
:)))))
I haven't begun to work on the
background "reclaimed" ????
fabrics as yet...I want to
fill in my butterfly and then
work on the background
for her...
What is "Reclaimed"--
a piece of an old quilt block?
Maybe? An old pair of pj's
cut up? An older shirt?
I am foraging in my
stash and looking for something
that looks good....

I have set out my previously
sewn Ojos on my
dining table to be layered
so i can do some hand quilting...
I used up a lot of scraps
in this Ojos piece.
{sorry for the bleached out photo;
in person it is a lot more vibrant}
My featured fabric is
this one

AND
I have NONE of it left over.
How often does that happen?
:)))

We had over 1" of rain
overnight and very high winds:
40-45 mph...
they awakened me a couple of
times rattling the house and
windows...
Today has remained windy
and gray with bits of rain
spitting down...
Hugs to you all,
