FINISHED CHRISTMAS BUNTING, et al

Here is my bunting hanging in place...
anchored on my two wrought iron
candleholders....
I had originally made 11 and it turned out
WAY too long for this spot...
SO I cut if down and now have
four to start a new one for a gift...

I will be leaving this up through Christmas.
πŸ˜‡πŸ’šπŸŒ⛄

Here is a long shot of my fireplace
which is
just to the left of the dining room and
open to the kitchen area separated
by an eating counter...

I like that the flag with my Grand-mere's crocheted lace
sets in the center of my bunting...

The lovely picture over the fireplace was one of
my mother-in-laws that she received as
a wedding gift...
I just love the soft serenity of it..

***************************
I have switched my little corner
in my sewing room
from hand sewing projects to
paper crafting for a while;
my hands really are in need
of a long resting period
after making all these flags
and also working on
quilting "Sunrise Sunset".

I will finish the border quilting
on that quilt..
 on my machine I think...

***************************
Meanwhile, I will be  still sewing my neutral
Ojos blocks on Helga and
working in my old
"En Masse" gluebook,
begun in 2023
↓↓↓↓

I am hoping to get it finally finished up...
[I need to make a list of items for
pages that need finishing.]
And....
Here are a few examples of finished pages:
faces

models

umbrellas

and, books
to show you a very few
 examples of my collections...

Such a relaxing way to
spend an afternoon...
;)))

SUNRISE, SUNSET, et al

The center strip blocks of Sunrise, Sunset
are getting hand quilted
 little by little....

I have only one more center to quilt and then
I can begin working on the surrounding triangles...

Here is what the central panel of the back
is looking like with the quilting
running through it...
Aren't all those cute animals funny???
So whimsical...that fox and the bunny, too;))))

I love that I have probably
enough left of the fabric
to make a little
pillow perhaps ;))))

**************************
Today, as my back is complaining
 from all the standing
while I sort and fold fabrics--
I am starting on the solid boxes.
I can sit with the box at my
dining table and fold..
.
I think I will begin with
that big red/pink box
↓↓↓↓

Perhaps oranges and peaches can also
reside in there--thus saving space on
my shelves...

Decisions, decisions--
???????
************************
Since my bout with Lyme and
Anaplasma diseases-----
my appetite has disappeared
for the most part...;((((

So, I am trying to work up some
enthusiasm for making dinners....
The big question each morning is
"What are we doing for dinner?"
S   I   G   H....
[Well,,,,,,,
I just don't know really!!
I'd just as soon not have any...!!]
AAARGH

Perhaps I am just sick of making these
decisions after all these years of
doing it!!

We will have been married
SIXTY YEARS
the 11th of this month...
that is a heck of a lot of decisions....
sounds awful and whine-y but
it is what it is.
πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘ΉπŸ‘ΊπŸ‘½πŸ‘Ύ
Do you ever feel like this????

SUNRISE, SUNSET, et al

I have been slowly working on my
peachey-pinkish blocks...
I will call this one
"Sunrise, Sunset"
[thanks to my friend, Lizzy's suggestion
thanks so much;)))]

I think it really fits my scrappy colorways...
I have two more blocks to make and
I am doing them in manageable sections:
Cutting, then
Piecing the half-square triangles
[5 sets to make 10 of them.]

Then, after cutting them apart...
Pressing them open to ready them
for
Trimming into
3.5" 1/2 sq triangles.

I began with 4 1/4" squares so a bit
of trimmings result...

Here is my next block set up for sewing ...
Tomorrow I will just sew it into three strip parts
and then the next day sew them together...

I love working this way...πŸ’—
It makes sense to my fog-laden brain...
No overdoing at one sitting and getting
tired out and then making mistakes...

*****************************
When I sat at my machine this morning
I spied this cutie out my window...
can you see her???

Munching on our clover...
How adorable...
πŸ’–πŸ’š

I hope you are all staying cool during this heat wave...
We are lucky to have our AC to keep us
comfortable here...
