FEBRUARY'S PROMPT:
"Neutrals and Flowers"
I am working on the second page
for my Fabric Journal...
I began adding embroidery
and beads to my composition
this afternoon...
The crocheted circle under the
suffolk puff
[which I made yesterday]
is from my
Grand-mere...
I've been wanting to incorporate
her crochet pieces
and buttons in a sewn piece
for a long time,,,
AND
I happened upon that little label:
"Plantes De Plein Air"
from part of an older French
fabric I had hiding in my
scrap bag...and thought
it was perfect for this page...
;)))
First, I kantha stitched
all the empty areas;
then worked around that upper blue
flower with french knots; and
then
added an old white button from
Grand-mere's button box to the
center of the lower suffolk puff
and finally
I added those pretty beads
all around and the satin
stitched tails on the bottom...
I still have more work to do,
but am pleased with it so far...

Meanwhile, Tom has been laboring
to put together our new chaise lounge
for the back deck...
He says it's a bear to assemble...
Bad directions as usual...

Tonight will be an easy grilled
hot dog supper with french
fries and pan seared
onions...
