ALMOST DONE

                                              Campfire Melodies is all quilted--
I decided to just do vertical and horizontal outlining of each block...on either side of the seams...

Just simple (mostly straight anyway -- hahaha) straight line quilting...

And this morning I have just  finished making this up

The binding all rolled and ready to apply..
                                                     Helga is getting impatient....;(((

But these shoulders, neck and hands are needing a rest day or two...so she'll have
to be patient for a couple more days....

I am happy with the quilting and thinking ahead to the label for my
                                                                L A S T  B I G  Q U I L T

I know enough to never say "never"; but I really cannot be hauling big quilts
through my machine anymore--and I don't send out my quilts
(not that there's anything wrong with that at all!) to be quilted...

 ************************************
The S U N came out today and it has reached 48 degrees--what a relief to see the
sunshine even though it is a bit hazy...warming to the spirit for sure.

Next week we are going up to visit my son and DIL
(and Willa and Fiona and Kota)
for the 1st time in a long time.  ;)))))

Hubster says he feels well enough to travel a bit...(fingers crossed).
I hope to bring up Jeff's quilt for him as a surprise present.  His is the last one....
Everybody else has a quilt that I have made from start to finish....
I've had a good long run making big quilts....such fun work....*:--)))

Now I will be changing gears a bit and making.....who knows what???
I am still in the dark on this and pondering...I will be de-stashing
quite a lot--I think--although that is painful...
BUT necessary....

I do know that a bit of a respite is long overdue...

hugs from a lovely day here at long last....

SLOWLY

                                       SUNDAY slow stitching

Hand work on the deck with my morning coffee....a few little cooling breezes
for a while anyway...
Stitching another block for "Circle of My Life"--
a different take on 365 circles.....

circling.....through memories.....
the navy squares are very old sun prints I made....they belong in a memory
piece, I thought....

I used ferns, hearts, and doilies to print with.....
becoming a SLOW MOON of stitches....

Meantime... my binding for Cassidy's quilt....is ready to go on.....
Perhaps my back will allow it tomorrow...
I decided to have it showing on the Christmas side and so,
used a lot of leftover
green and red,  and just green fabric scraps.....

It is S L O W progress....and that is ok.

Hugs to all--hope you quilters with bad backs heal quickly....

WEDNESDAY WORKS & THANGS

HELGA GOT A COMPLETE CLEANING THIS MORNING.

Not being mechanically minded, this is something I always put off doing!  (Bad girl!!) .;-000

I mean after quilting the "surprise quilt" on every (stinkin') seam--there was an amazing amount of dust and lint in there!

The hardest thing was replacing her bobbin case correctly--each time I tried to pull up the bobbin thread, the top thread kept getting caught on the case!!  Yikes!!

I FINALLY figured it out... (phew)
plus:  it is totally necessary to use my left hand (the injured one) to do everything.  (OKAY I'm through whining!! ) DONE FOR A WHILE.....;--)) )) yay!!!

I also wound up 15 bobbins.

Then I made this :

The scrappy binding for someone's surprise....

You will notice a new gadget on my sidebar called "Postage Stamps" ; I have joined that group and as I am a "newbie" I will be getting free sets of 50 (2.5") squares in the mail from all over the world!! You can find more info on this group at The Curious Quilter.  I am really excited to embark on this quilting journey.

Miss Spring has brought a few hours of warmth here to our home...we were able to
sit out on the deck for an hour before the cold winds came rushing through once again.

She hangs on my quilting room wall--a harbinger of warmer weather to come....

********************************************************************** DH took me out for breakfast this morning: not a diet one either: a egg, toast, bacon and
homefries with great coffee....tonight will be his homemade Beef Barley Soup...
I think I'll keep him (LOL) ;-)))
