C O L D : Weather & Me

Here's my setup for finishing my Wall hanging for our living room: {pauvre petit lapin is all blurry }

FINALLY, this cold/flu-like bug has left me; and I was able today to finish this quilting.  The Jason Yenter fabric {In the Beginning from 2010} had been lying in wait for me to do SOMETHING with it.  I just couldn't see cutting it --yup, I have that syndrome, too, mes amies. SO-- It will be the back of Christmas time wall hanging for us --very nostalgic and sentimental.  I love the way the holly curls in diamond shapes--just perfect for use as a quilting shape.  I big-stitched this side and just took lil' bites from the other side...[I think I showed the Good Luck Crane fabric on another post here].

I still like to use that 1/4" tape to mark my quilt path--love this colorway--just a little different for Christmas, I think.  Those little old-timey vignettes are just charming.

Am still struggling with the bindings on my muggle rugs--they just look CLUNKY to me--especially around those corners.  AND....so it goes....

That is all for this time--Bundle up and have a great weekend..Julierose, La Blageuse

IT IS A WONDER-FILLED LIFE

Our family had our celebration yesterday filled with laughter, a few tears, memories, music  and much gratefulness for being all together again....and so blessed with our 2 1/2 month old granddaughter, Fiona..

Cassidy was our "santa" this year handing all the presents around....

Steven liked his presents

My daughter, Candice, held Fiona a lot.....she says, "been there, done that!" after her four...

Cassidy held Fiona, too--isn't that  a sweet  picture?

AND  Grand'mere gets her turn, too...

All over for another year....such a lovely day... I loved every minute...

Here is what I am working on now:  My Spider (in the Jardin) Web  --next comes bright blues:

This is why Mrs. Spider is "in the Jardin"--don't you just love this fabric??

I am making each block a bright scrap-filled primary color  and am using up my stash--such fun--AND:  am using   Bonnie's "Leaders and Enders" idea and making a whole batch of "twosies at the same time....ya gotta love that Bonnie.. 'til next time...

Holiday Memories/aNOTHer project????

Received some disturbing news about Mom in the nursing home today--sooo, had to get my spirits lifted:  Here's what i did:

And this is how I felt the whoosh of time flying by:

I have a really hard time during the holidays--with my darling Dad gone and Mom fading, it is hard for me to get into the spirit--not to complain--I have sooo much to be grateful for:

Here is a pix of my needlepoint ornament (there were three, but I gave one to each of my children last year:

I am thrilled that my children are coming on Monday after Christmas day--which Tommy and I will spend with Mom:

These are a few of the tags I made in my scrapping days:

Time moves on...
Every year we chose a person to be "santa" and he/she sits in my great grandmother's rocking chair to distribute the goodies.....wearing, natch!  Le Chapeau....

and so, mes amies...here is my latest folly--yet another project-- that called to me-- i HAVE to do it...

the very start of my" Jardin Spider Web"....love love love this pattern....so much fun--it totally lifted my spirits this fogbound day here in SE CT....Have a great week...
