JOY TIMES TWO, et al

I started my 2nd Joy Banner
stoday...

I found that  bare trees fabric
from an old Ghastlie line
in my deep stash...
[click above to see the pretty
snowflake batik
come to life]
:)))

And I set up
↓↓↓
" O "

{"O Tannenbaum" was
running through my
head while I set
this up}

I have this set up on an old plastic
serving tray with an orange pattern
so it looks a bit strange...

but it is more in the mint green
 turquoise color range...

*********************
This morning,
my πŸ‘΄Sweet Baboo πŸ‘΄ took
me for a ride to get out....;)))
BUT
unfortunately we spent 35 minutes in
a traffic jam because of road work
AND
πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘Ή
because of
those people who wouldn't pull
over and wait--they had to
push their way ahead of
us all to the very end of the closed
lane--so
ANNOYING!!
(comments deleted!!)

But a bonus was that
our trees were in their
glorious Fall clothing
and just beautiful...
I felt my spirits rise
just looking at them...πŸ‘΅

**********************

I got this lovely
Amaryllis kit--
so tomorrow I will
get this planted...
How pretty is this one...
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

****************************
And.....
⇩⇩⇩
Here is my new setup
for printed cross stitching
with clamp-on
MAGNIFIER:
πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
So very much easier to see...
for this ancient one's eyes..

I am making slow progress on
this piece....

**********************
I want to
thank you all
for sending me good
wishes
 for my recovery:
In that vein I
will report---
that
Today I was able to
walk the grocery aisles
holding the cart without
pain--;))))

The only problem was
standing and waiting in line...
ooof-dah
that part still hurt!!

But I think I am finally beginning
to see improvement...
perhaps turning the
corner...

HOCUS POCUS

I have begun a new
handcraft..

(which I need like a hole in the head, right?)

Since I have been laid up with sciatica and
ankle pain--I have been watching
Youtube videos that feature
crafters...
[Yup, I know--it's like going to
see puppies--yikes!!
You cannot come home
without one!!]

A N Y W A Y --
I cannot seem to get the hang of regular
counted cross stitch for the
life of me..
so I spied
"pre-printed" cross stitch
canvases...

I used to do needlepoint
years ago and I thought
Well, I can do this...
R I G H T ???

Above is the finished picture
and here is the canvas:

W h a a a a???
But after reading the instructions
and looking at many "starter" videos,
I saw that it wouldn't be difficult
to figure out following the chart...

{If you enlarge the above picture you may
be able to see the first line of
stitching at the bottom--
light gray "x's".}

The canvas is a bit on the
stiff side but I think with
handling it will soften up...

Here is my dining table workspace set up"
↡↡↡↡
With a good straight backed chair
and a supporting pillow I can stitch.

I am calling this "Hocus Pocus" ;
a bit late for Halloween but
hoping a finish for next year...
