SEA GLASS FINISHED--Just my cup o'tea

Well, here it is ladies! Sea glass--tied, bound and labeled--

a few of my favorite strings and scrappy parts....
Undersea Flowers

Beach birdies

Lighthouse and snow fences...and undersea anemones (lol)

A weathered beach house....
the backing is a KF vases print that I just love and couldn't cut into....

Isn't this just scrumptious???
And here is the "Just My Cup O' Tea" label
the binding which only shows on the Sea glass side is made up of long strings of very old fabrics:

I like a wide binding..I know it's not in vogue--but I think it adds to this scene...
and the "stars are in their heavens and all is well with my world today"

Hugs to you all, Julierose La Blageuse

P.S.  now for the "Wonder Women Woven Wall" --but after I rest my shoulders....

HWXAGON PANSIES, SEA GLASS, & WONDER WOMEN

Here's my Pansies ready to bloom in the Spring table runner--I machine sewed the edges as my quilting foot was already set up on Helga and she cooperated! (LOL)
and here is the reverse side of Pansies with Summer Pinks:
I just fits my living room coffee table like this

Or even for our cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on a Summer's eve on our back deck:

AND--this baby is on my dining table being tied after some straight line quilting lines to hold it together...Sea Glass...

and remember me--Wonder Woman Woven Wall--WELL, she finally got me all tied!! Now if she can figure out my binding...hmmmm...
(My quilts sometimes talk to me lol)

and so, my Summer of finishes continues along, bit by little bit, I am getting them done.  Pulling myself along...why is it so hard to F I N I S H ?????

Hugs to you all, Julierose, La Blageuse Finisheuse

WHAT WE DID TODAY

We are thrilled that our mason, Bennie, and his crew extended our sidewalk to include a small seating area in front of our house.  He is really a stone artist--the new area just feels like it has been there all along...

this afternoon Tommy and I extended the curve outlining the small garden in front...--Tommy dug out the grass and I planted the small azaleas --they were hidden away in a corner being overtaken by pachysandra--we found four of them--and I can't wait to see what color they will bring next Spring.

This lovely blue spruce should expand now that the other bushes crowding it have been removed.  --I love its color against the gray house...

I am so excited to be able to do this work.  i have always wanted to have a pretty welcoming area at our front entrance.

i found this really cute welcome sign at --of all places--JoAnnes!

Tomorrow, i plan to get herbs to fill in: basil, tarragon, and perhaps some bee balm-- I hope to install day lilies also...

On the quilt front--i am continuing with "Where in the World is Tommy"..

I am sewing twosies and ironing the long seam open and flat--with all those crossing seam I felt that I needed to take the time to do that.

i am using a little water to keep those crossing seams flattened....

I got some new fabrics in the mail today...this KF which I love...and
Just had to have this one... and....
this baby...yummy...and

Blue Crabs....

We got to see these babies over the weekend, too:

Willa is WALKING!!

Ohhh, Grand'mere, my hoodsie cup is sooooo cold!

It has been a busy and fun weekend for sure...
hugs to you all...I have spread out my batting to rest and un-kink overnight for my Sea Glass quilt which is ready to be basted.....

"FLU- SHOT- ARM" EDITION

WELL, they're all sashed and up on my wall--BUT: yesterday the hubster and I got our annual flu shots....my left arm is useless for now.  Last night I could not get comfortable at all so was
up at 1, 2:30, 3:15, etc...aaargh!!  Of course, hubby had no reaction....and so it goes....

Anyhoo....that is my excuse for its not being together....okay...here is how two of my favorite blocks came out:

I just love that fussy cut little sailboat--perfect for Sea Glass--you can also see the sort of tie-dyed sashing I finally chose ....

And another block I like is this one:

That little sea flower poking through....this is really a different type quilt--very low value and scrappy  from a distance despite some of the brighter spots....I am hoping that the final borders will be able to pull it together better--right now it seems kind of "blah" to me....

Or, too busy or just....something off...I hope to be able to sew these blocks together tomorrow--if my arm allows me to work (just trying to lift it is quite painful...poor baby...[lol])
Perhaps some little "sea themed" appliques at the sashing junctions?? So far no ideas seem to work...maybe I need to not "LOOK AT IT" so much...really, sometimes I just get so intense about things....{sigh}....

I will hook up tomorrow with RSC13 light blue as I think the sashings do contain a very pastelly (is that a word??) type of blue.

For now I am your Julierose, La Blageuse

PASTEL BLUES....NOT SO MUCH....

Strippy scrapping along here...these are the extent of my pastel blues--see those little pieces??

I'm not kidding, this is it....

And these few...just a couple more strippies will contain some bits and bobs....

My September RSC13 is a little paltry, huh?  But, with so little to work with I figured I might as well get busy on my "Sea Glass" piece.  So far, 31 blocks, and yesterday I made 11 more strips to piece together.

I am excited to  have been invited to post on  Stringthingalong .....   so, I am re-energized to finish this piece.  If you visit that site, you can see amazing string works....

MISSIE:  This is for you  ma dear....merci, merci look at this....
Here are the pix of the clematis you sent me--still not in bloom, but sprouting away:

It has really grown out over my plant holder and wind chimes................

AND, I think those are little flower buds--I can't wait to see it bloom; last night we had thunder boomers, lightening and rain and today more rain...so perhaps this weekend I will have flowers! I can't thank you enough for your generous gift.....((((((hugs))))
Missie can be found at Hallbrook Designs  check her out--great stuff.

I hope you all have a great weekend...

P.S.  I am off with my wonderful friend, MaryAnn, to Colchester Mill Fabrics today--uuunh, didn't I say I was on a fabric diet????  Wellll, I really really DO NEED to get some white with blacks for a new hexie pathways project; I mean it is really NECESSARY (right ROTFLOL) ; and I have to re-stash those blues, don't you think I mean after seeing those puny little pieces....yup.  I will post my goodies next time,.,...hugs to all
