I need to outline bunny to make
her stand out more, I think...
I wanted a subtle page, but
she really melts into the
background too much...

before I sewed them on...

I used bits and bobs from
my Crazy Quilt leftovers...
I have also cut out some small circles to
make some suffolk puffs
that will become flower heads...
You can just see them on the top
right on my new wool mat
which, by the way, is just
perfect to sew upon...;)))
I have also searched through my
buttons to maybe add a few
of those somewhere...
It's all a bit of a muddle
in my mind right now...
Seems that's how it goes...
This is all so new to me, I have trouble
figuring out what kind of
final embroidery to add
and where to add it!

feeling...but not too bad really.

FYI for those of you who have
asked how I am doing:
I am coming along after my 2nd epidural,
2 1/2 weeks ago now;
and have been cleared to
begin exercising and gentle
short walking...
[and allowed to get my
booster
shot...]
It is a gorgeous sunny, if still chilly
day here (winds out of the NW
are always cold)

Love your Page One with the bunny and lace! So soft and pretty! Love the hexagon flowers too. I could get boosted tomorrow but I don't want to feel sick for Easter. I think I'll go next week. Hope you're feeling better. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI am timing my second booster for a trip in June to maximize its effective period of time (meaning I will get it in mid-late May). Love your subtle hand stitching project. And good that the second epidural has helped.

ReplyDeleteOdd that you should mention your Crazy Quilt stash because I spent some of yesterday and most of day going through mine and (gasp!) most of it is going. I have taken two years to come to the realization that I simply don't want to do any more CQ so there's no sense in having drawers full of fabric bits that I know I will never use and that I have to paw through every time I want some cottons that are mixed up with it. Two big garbage bags are outta here! AND....that meant I emptied a number of drawers and now I have room for my yarns....woo hoo!
Hope your booster effects have worn off and that you enjoy your Easter weekend.
That's an interesting new project you are doing, with a group perhaps, as you mentioned getting prompts each month? It's been a very long road to recovery for you, hasn't it. Baby steps, bit by bit, and you will surely recover your strength and mobility.
ReplyDeleteAs a former crazy quilter like my friend MaryAnne above (we both used to be on the editorial staff of a CQ magazine), I still have some stash left. But not much - I’ve sent boxes of stuff to friends. What I’ve held back is some basic embroidery threads, laces and a large baggie of my very favorite fancy fabric pieces. And cutter linens, because I plan to do something similar to what you and Barb of Three Cats Ranch are doing. In fact, I did a prototype block about - omg, FIVE years ago?!? Anyway, your pieces are lovely, and I’m glad to hear the second epidural is done and dusted. Take it easy, but enjoy some freedom of movement! We just got our second booster this week too. xo
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to read that you are now able to do gentle walking again. This is good news. Your leaping bunny piece is gorgeous and your new pretty is going to be lovely. I never tire of looking at hexies; yours are lovely. My arm was sure too, when I got the booster jab but it was fine after a day or two
