I spent a few hours decorating this junk mail envelope to use as a tip-in
in my Illustrated Journal.....using just leftover scraps from scrapbooking papers that
I couldn't bear to throw away....a glue stick and an envelope I usually trash
(gasp--:oooo --not anymore!!)
Here's the back of the envelope...
the opening is on the left (short side) to slip in some pictures or private journaling..
Now how could I
throw her away, I ask you??
I knew I saved her for a
reason...lol
And.........It flurried this morning and now the sun is trying to pop out--
so I punched out a few snowflakes to decorate....here and there....
And some clouds and smaller flakes....(you can see the interior of those
junk mail business letters that I am now collecting...)
*********************************
I saw a YouTube video tutorial on this idea at " JOURNALER PRAMITA 2306's"
youtube channel....
{check out her videos--she is amazing....}
Thanks Pramita;))).
...............
I was immediately drawn in to this idea- Great "use it up" and recycle fun.
Plus it is so pretty--you could even do Christmas or other holiday mail this way....
So, this is what I do when I cannot sew--resting my poor olde body--
my
(beloved) paper playing....
hope your Sunday is a "fun day" too!!
Hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (paper crafting-euse)

CAMPFIRE MELODIES
Here are the first 12 blocks sewn in groups of four to make
a row of three across =ling @ 48"
{Difficult getting a picture across, as my room is so small,
so--I went into the corner of the closet to try to snap this one ROTFLOL}
"Julierose, go to your closet!!" LOL
Anyway..I like the flavor of outdoorsey camping these fabrics show:
rocks, skies, trees, streams, campers, music --and--
there will be the guitars for the back--
I am limiting myself to making 3/day so that I don't HURT MYSELF AGAIN!! aAARRRGGGHHH..
Hubster Honey (HH) and I were just wondering last night
if a day would go by when one or both of us would not get hurt!!
Ahhh the joys of aging...but as Mom used to say :
"Don't complain--you're looking DOWN at the grass, not UP!!" 👴👵
So, I am happy that this Friday I can sew...
Hugs for a healthy, happy weekend...

SMILING IRISH EYES
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Aren't these lovely?
I love carnations--they are such a long-lasting cut flower...
*****************************
A Wonderful Trip down Memory Lane....
Years ago, I took Mom to Ireland on a bus Tour...and when we came home I made a scrapbook about our trip...and am I happy that I did...
Now that she has gone on before me, I can flip through the book and recall
all the happy times we had....
Here is page one....with a collage of small bits of Irish lands....
Here we are on our tour of the Cliffs of Mor...(Mom wearing her usual cap;)) )
She and our tour driver, who was named "Danny" (really!!), got along famously.
Mom led all the singing and kept us laughing along the way....she and I knew all the words to the old songs....he was impressed and really loved her, as you can see.....
Here she is in the Irish Misty-ness....
Such a fine, small little rain.....
I do miss her Green Eyes and ready smile....
A souvenir of times past.....
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
We are having corned beef and cabbage today, but of course....
And a little toast to those we have loved....and lost to time...
Hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse ("If you Ever go across sea to
Ireland....")

SNOW DAYS
We've been looking out into this lately...
No deck sitting today, I fear....
Lunch, anyone?
Isn't this just so sad looking?
Heavy wet snow breaking limbs and felling trees...
Tell me,
Did someone Upset Mother Nature..?
And....
I hear another Nor'easter is on its way....
With more of this and also strong winds....
O Spring where art thou??
{Still resting...and restive!;000}
hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse-- snowed-in-euse

WHERE IT'S AT-OR NOT!!
Here's where I left off almost 2 weeks ago now......
I don't want to clean up the mess because I was RIGHT IN THE
MIDDLE , ya know?
All the cut strips in the
grays and browns....
W A I T I N G...
Little end pieces ready to fill the corners.....W A I T I N G.....
The last sewn strip--with Helga sighing and W A I T I N G >>>!!!
Still not completely ready to begin again....S * I * G * H * ....
***************************
Here is my Paper Crafting corner...
which I have been trying to organize...
in the meantime, (in between time--during snow time--
I mean REALLY??? ANOTHER Nor'easter tonight??) ;~(((
Where I can sit and gaze at the falling snow--O Joy!! 🙈
Love love love my IKEA cart....
Just loaded with S T U F F
And this is just part of my
scrapbook and
journaling STUFF, stuff and
MORE Stuff....jostling my fabric
STUFF for space in my small room...
Just sayin'--;ooo
Here are a few pages out of my illustrated recycled magazine journal.....
This is SUCH fun to do....
AND ...
I have always kept a written journal, but this is a new venture to try to
illustrate my days...just the daily grind...the usual round, same old same old
BUT...somehow when you put a whole week's worth of doings on a two-page spread it really takes on new meaning...
("I'm as restless as a willow in a "snow" storm..I'm as jumpy as a
puppet on a string, I'd say that I have Spring Fever, but I {really really}
know it isn't Spring...." File under songs for all occasions...)
And just to add a note: I hate this Daylight Savings Time switch every year...
I am not hungry or sleepy at the normal times...aaargh...
am I a bit restive
You betcha...:*-}}}
Hugs (and congrats if you got through all of this one!!)

NADA
Add to that we are going to be hit by another Nor'easter Monday night into Tuesday--
tons of fun right?
Not any sewing or crafting going on here--still resting the arm/shoulder over use...
*************************************************
FYI:
I have also disabled anonymous comments as I have been getting some unusual
comments--a bit disturbing. :~{{
************************************************************
I am still following blogs, reading "White Nights" in the Ann Cleeves Shetland
series, and watching YouTube a lot...
I didn't realize just how many hours per day I had been spending
piecing and quilting......:*((---a whole LOT to fill up it seems...
(Too bad I cannot really do any cleaning either--boo-hoo--NOT)
***********************************************************
In the meantime:
My neutral blocks are getting very restive on my design wall--I think they are
moving around during the night into new configurations to see if i will notice
lol
At any rate, every time I look at them they inspire a bit of a guilty feeling....
I will sign off for a while as even typing is uncomfortable...

"CAMPFIRE SONGS"
This snapshot came out so bright--(and I don't know why..) The blocks look more like this:
Anyhoo.....
I have 18 more little blocks to go [on what I am naming "Campfire Songs"]; for my son, who plays guitar ...and goes on a wilderness campout every Summer with his friends, and likes neutral colors.
Hopefully, he will like this lap quilt...
I will be using the guitar print as a central panel and putting fence
rail blocks as a border around it...for the reverse side....that way we keep the
guitars whole.......
That's the plan for now--we'll see--
stay tuned....
*********************************
And on the home front:
We are presently awaiting the arrival of our chimney guy to give us an estimate for a new "crown" and to seal our leaking chimney...with heavy rains predicted tonight through Saturday we were hoping that they could do some work today...as it is now 10:30, I doubt it SOooooo
Out comes the pan for the leaks....AGAIN...I do so wish that workmen would come when they say they will...
And so it goes....;~ *((((
hugs to you all
Stay safe and warm all of you in this stormy weather's path...
