I pulled out my old rolodex
a week ago and have been
working on teaching myself
how to
collage on these cards--
I also took out all my old stamps and
inking pads for this project...
I am using the Alpha cards as prompts;
the first three for "A" are:
Artichoke, Apple and Architecture
and
here are the reverse sides using the
same prompts:
I am really having fun using up bits and bobs
of papers leftover from my long ago
scrapbooking days...
Here is the letter "B"
Boat, Butterfly and Book
and the reverse
I am collaging both sides as the cards hang both ways
on the rolodex...
What a fun project...
A little change ....
***********************
For those of you who have been
asking and wishing me well--
I am beginning to feel better...
I still have symptoms and
that horrid "brain fog",
but on the whole,
I think I am coming out of it..
Fevers are fewer and farther between...
Phew this has been a real drag!!

Good to hear that you're doing better. The card project looks like a lot of fun, especially since you already have the supplies. Did you get a lot of snow yesterday/last night? We got around six inches, largest snowfall we've had all winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're starting to feel better. I love how you're using up your scrapbooking supplies. Looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun project, and the perfect size for when you need something fairly simple to do! I'm so sorry to hear about the brain fog - that is an icky side effect of Covid. Sending you lots of good thoughts that each day will be a little bit better.
ReplyDeleteQuite a project, it looks like fun. Glad you're feeing better. I still blame Covid when I can't quickly remember something like I used too. That "brain fog" is real.
ReplyDeleteI have heard it does take a long time to get over it. Some have told me they still couldn't taste any thing for a year later. our neighbor across the street has covid now, I am thankful Tommy hadn't been over to check on him for a week before he called and told him.
ReplyDeleteHis grandson is over their staying with him right now.
He has been married 3 times and grandson was third wife's grand. But he always loved his grand!
This looks like such a fun project and a great way to display your art all wrapped into one.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're starting to emerge from the dreaded covid!
Why, I don't believe a Rolodex has ever looked so good. Such a clever idea to collage the pages. It's good to hear you are finally getting to the end of your bout of covid.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are beginning to feel better. I love the rolodex project, what a great way to use up old scrap papers! It's wonderful! Continue to heal!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING coincidence - I decided last week (BEFORE I read your post) that I was going to use a rolodex and cards for my collage/journal project after I finish up the ones that are currently in process! How cool that you are doing it, too! HAVE FUN!
ReplyDeleteThe rolodex project is such a cute idea, Julierose. I'm happy to hear you are beginning to feel a bit better.
ReplyDeleteHappy to read that you're slowly feeling better a little at a time and it has certainly been 'a real drag' for you. I love the cards you're showing us, they're so pretty and the colours are soft and delicate.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are starting to feel better. When you can start doing things you enjoy, it is a great sign.
ReplyDeleteThe SF library papered a wall with their old card catalogue cards. I was so envious. Perhaps you can paper some wall in your house with these delightful bits.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to use the rolodex and make alphabet cards. They are delightful. What kind of glue do you use? Have you ever used Yes! and, if so, do you like it?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're starting to feel better. That brain fog took a while to get over, and so did regaining energy. I'm glad you can be home to rest and recover without the stress of having to go to work.
