No Pix-- Danger! Danger! Will Robinson:--V-E-N-T-I-N-G Post
Hi All: I hated machine quilting!! I don't like the look of the stitches; my neck and hands hurt and I got puckers! I WILL post a pix when quilt is bound. (At least my twin grandsons will still like it 'cause Grand'mere made it for them..). I am really grumpy (duh!!) as I love the pattern.
I think I really prefer tying; or hand quilting even though it takes a LONG TIME--but then you get to "know" your quilt really well and lotsa stuff can be quilted out ( as my Grand'mere used to say; don't worry, don't hurry, just do it!!) I will show you my mess after I go take a REALLY, REALLY long walk...(S -I-G- H) and stare at the ocean for a while.....it's hard realizing that you just cannot do EVERYTHING you want to do well.....a little humility needed here.
.I have to re-think what I want to do.....for this next year. Also, I have another one to do yet.....

IT IS A WONDER-FILLED LIFE
Our family had our celebration yesterday filled with laughter, a few tears, memories, music and much gratefulness for being all together again....and so blessed with our 2 1/2 month old granddaughter, Fiona..
Cassidy was our "santa" this year handing all the presents around....
Cassidy was our "santa" this year handing all the presents around....
Steven liked his presents
My daughter, Candice, held Fiona a lot.....she says, "been there, done that!" after her four...
Cassidy held Fiona, too--isn't that a sweet picture?
AND Grand'mere gets her turn, too...
All over for another year....such a lovely day... I loved every minute...
Here is what I am working on now: My Spider (in the Jardin) Web --next comes bright blues:
This is why Mrs. Spider is "in the Jardin"--don't you just love this fabric??
I am making each block a bright scrap-filled primary color and am using up my stash--such fun--AND: am using Bonnie's "Leaders and Enders" idea and making a whole batch of "twosies at the same time....ya gotta love that Bonnie.. 'til next time...

PHEW!!!! (No pix post)
Bake, bake, bake, cut, cut, cut, sew, sew, sew, clean (well, a little), sew, iron, sew, iron, sew, iron, cut, cut cut....and so it goes, working up to the DAY......
Finally got the flannel out-doorsey prints in the mail and have the twins' lap LC's pinned and ready to machine quilt. Fudge made , prepped to make Becky Higgins' chocolate candy popcorn for giving and well, those words from the old timey "Alice in Wonderland" film ,,,"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date, no time to say hello--goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late..." keep running through my head....
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL VISITORS...A BIG HUG AND A MERCI GOES OUT TO YOU ALL....MMMMMMWAH!!!

Ack--organizational (???) Edition
QUESTION: Have you been here????
Well, I really just moved one little thing around in my sewing room--AND within about ten minutes I had a whole lotta "stuff--scrapbooking, bookbinding, old yarn balls and books, books & mags galore" on every available surface AND the floor. Not to mention the stash which still didn't get re-organized.
Now, why did I do this --I am in the midst of finishing up the twins' lap quilts but: after all....who can figure it out: the enigma of being a quilter??? Perhaps this book
which I just got in the mail and read last night edged into my "pea brain" overnight and made me shashay in there and begin....I know what my New Year's Resolution is going to be for sure....get some kind of "fabric order"--so I can FIND THINGS!!!!!
YIKEERS!!!
YA THINK???????
This is what it looks like now--STILL a glop of fabric in various crates, bins, under-the-bed storage units...and so A-C-K!!
At any rate--here are the two quilts (blue sewn together) and red on the quilt wall...
I am happy how they are turning out--n-o-w--how to set them off into lap quilts.....
Well, I did re-organize my scanty thread stash into this little handy rolling cart--I guess that's a start???

Holiday Memories/aNOTHer project????
And this is how I felt the whoosh of time flying by:
Here is a pix of my needlepoint ornament (there were three, but I gave one to each of my children last year:
I am thrilled that my children are coming on Monday after Christmas day--which Tommy and I will spend with Mom:
These are a few of the tags I made in my scrapping days:
Time moves on...
Every year we chose a person to be "santa" and he/she sits in my great grandmother's rocking chair to distribute the goodies.....wearing, natch! Le Chapeau....
and so, mes amies...here is my latest folly--yet another project-- that called to me-- i HAVE to do it...

Saturday Pix-o-rama
Progress on my hand quilting effort--all basted and ready to be embroidered:

(I SO wish I could find some more of that gray birchtrees fabric on the left--this is the last of it--
all gone
BOO-HOO!!)
Next:
The twins' lap quilts are coming along--one more round I think....
Here is the very first log cabin I ever made--I always put it up at Christmastime....
I named it "The Crows' Christmas" because of the little crows on that mustard-ey fabric....
AND a TA-DA--the finished Wonky--at last and in time for my Granddaughter's 1st Christmas..
flip side above and what is it with me and crows..?????
I love the way the big stitch looks like the crows have been walking all over the blocks.
And so.. off to my daughter's to babysit and play a gazillion games of Rummy....
