It's been one of THOSE weeks: electricians in and out --a lil' mousie, it seems, ate through one of our wires and threw out the whole bedroom & bath area of the house. (Sigh); so somewhere in our bedroom wall a "crispy critter" is lying.....ugh!!
OK: enough whining...this is what I am doing with Spiders in the Jardin:
Hand quilting--don't look TOO closely--the stitches are not all that even or small--BUT--it is getting easier--coming back to me a little. I {heart} doing this at night, so soothing.....( I machined the big seams and tied the corners--so it'll be a 3-way quilt-- :--))
See what I mean, well, I guess if we are defined by what we do, this truly shows that I am not totally OCD....as it is "what it is" and will stay that way..
Here is the signature block I hand sewed together from scraps for the back--since it's a "garden" quilt I thought those veggies would be cute..no????; and it will be a gift for a very close gardening maven- friend.....
And so, mes amies, that is where I am--my leftside: neck/shoulder/arm/hand etc (aaargh) is/are very sore--sooooo, baby, baby steps...(and why do grocery clerks have to fill our bags soooo full I want to know--do we look like weight lifters, I mean really ...oops--forgot--no more whining allowed..) I think a lil' sippy of wine is in order tonight!!
'Til we meet again..I am as ever, Julierose, La Blageuse

Sunday "Blues-ey" , et al
Well, Blues-ey----Together--at last--
It's a little crooked (Babe's arms were gettin' tired--off-dah!!)
THERE--a little better...This is the first quilt I've attempted with SOOOOO many little pieces--AND--I know I turned some of the blocks the WRONG WAY (aaargh!!) BUT....since it's just for my little cover-up--I decided to leave them (actually I didn't even see it until I took these pix!! LOL); it's supposed to be diamond shapes --oh well...c'est la vie.
I have a question for you readers: When you use templates (acrylic or other) do you personally trace around them and then cut with scissors or rotary cut?
I got these templates from Katy at "I'm A Ginger Monkey" a few weeks ago as I L-O-V-E-D this pattern--hexagons, you say--no, really (duh!! ROTFLOL):
AND I plan to hand-piece it--hubby thinks I've finally, irretrievably and utterly "Lost It" big time
:--}} (he has a moustache--that's him guffawing away....)
this is why he N E V E R enters my quilting space:
and HE has NO idea just how much fabric is in there---but I digress...anyhooo...
.
Here's a pix of it "Spring Carnival":
Isn't it just yummy???
We are still awaiting that Nor'Easter that is supposed to bring us our much-needed rain. I keep humming..."Soon it's gonna rain, I can feeeel it, soon it's gonna rain, rain like h***"--uh, a few little lyric changes there...
Adieu mes amies--have a super Sunday--Julierose, La Blageuse

Sailing Onward: Love you guys....
Just a thought: I really appreciate the Award that I received from my friend, Rosemary; BUT.....
It took me 3 1/2 hours to do all of its parts. I found it stressful to say the least--AND blogger doesn't help--I couldn't leave a comment on bsmodernquilting as the comment would not post--after 10 tries, I gave it up...
This blog is just for fun and whoever wants to stop by and take a peek at my stuff....the big REWARD for me is all of the positive comments you all leave for me. I don't need anymore than that.....
Here's a picture of the imaginary blogworld I visited this morning....(pillar to post ) .(P.S.--Doesn't that look like me? Tommy thinks so--It's not---howdah like that one????heheheheh)
Have a great weekend--we are still doing our raindance here but that ol' Sun is poking out again....
Sincerely, Julierose, La Blageuse

This is where I've been....100 pix later!!
We are now 6 months old; eating Grand'mere's minestrone soup (pureed, of course) and sitting right up...
Mommy and me are playing every day....and I don't like ANY-ONE else to hold me right now....(isn't my Mommy beautiful??)
I love to play on the quilt that Grand'mere made me....and I am teething....and my eyes are staying BLUER than blue...yay.....
{Tommy and I went on an unexpected two-day trip to Kittery, Portsmith, ME, and my son's in MA and did some shopping on the way, eating out (YUM--the Weathervane has the B-E-S-T stuffed shrimp ever!!) and I did do some more hexagons too--..} .More on quilts next time..

Mother Nature's Spectacular Rainbow of Colors
Strange weather here....this is a view out from our back deck tonight....
About 1 minute--then pouf--gone. The trees look surrealistic, don't they???
(Just a note----- I got Bonnie Hunter's newest book "Scraps & Shirttails II" today in the mail. Instant gratification peeps; I want to make ALL of these quilts....so scrappy and such great instructionals. )

WINDY WEDNESDAY-BLUE-SY DANCIN'
Here's the top 1/2 of my "Blue-sy" quilt which I sewed totally as a "Leader & Ender" project:
(Here's a little tip: File Under" DO NOT START A QUILT WITH ONE MACHINE AND THEN.......
SWITCH TO ANOTHER PART WAY THROUGH!!) BUT, ever the optimist, I am following Mary Ellen Hopkins' advice: just center the smaller square on top of the larger one and stitch away--it'll all come out in the end....ROTFLOL...let's hope anyway:
A very scrappy, old fabric look here....like my "at home" look (heh heh);
And here is my new little project as Leader&Ender --they are little babies...I {heart} them:
"Bebe's got a new Bowtie": yummy cheddar prints and dark flower & fruit prints...got lotsa these babes out in sets.
Am happily quilting away on my "Diamonds are Forever" hexie--I think I've forgotten how to hand quilt tho'--it's been so long..
Time to do my "Rain Dance" (not a good visual-- LOL)--it is soooo dry here--we are in a constant "Red Fire Alert" here in SE CT..... see y'all later...Julierose, La Blageuse

Blues-ey Tuesday Design Wall
This is only one possible setting--it kinda fades in and out: from Bonnie Hunter's "Blue Ridge Beauty" pattern in her "Leaders and Enders Book; (I sewed this entirely during other projects using that method.) I may shift the blocks around again--it is a tricky setting....
Here is my sewing station: All set to sew more hst's and 4-patch pieces together.....tryin' to keep busy after a difficult visit with my Mom today in the Nursing Home....
AND tonight I will be hand quilting my hexagons while watching tv with Tommy...(and perhaps a lil' glass of vino will be in order--ya think?).
