                                         "Joyeux Noel" stitching while

                    HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I hope you are all enjoying your special day
I miss seeing my children
who are usually here
to celebrate...
as I am sure you all do, too.
"Virtuality"
is not my favorite state.

Here are my last two "Merry Month of May"
block-a-day blocks
↡↡↡
I found the little lions and the zebra
among my mini charms...

and
↡↡↡
Tea by the Sea ;)))

Two more 16-patches

FORWARD ON A FRIDAY

All pinned and ready to either machine quilt or tie....
                                      Decisions, decisions..........

Since I threw my back out this morning ;0000
{note to self: don't drop soap in the shower!!}
I will have time to decide.....

********************************************
Last two Courthouse Steps for now--they number 58:

Really reaching into deep scrap stash
and using some of Wanda's (click)
                                   lovely strips she gifted me.

************************************************
                            ↟↟↟  Yesterday's Merry Month of May  ↟↟↟
                                                    block-a-day

Today, I set one up but I couldn't
sit at the machine to sew it ;000

Here is the set up of today's :      ⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓
It is a lot brighter than the other ones....

*******************************************

Here are the next  two   "In A Square 16-Patch"  blocks
      I am working on....

[For those of you who asked how I used a jelly roll to make these....

Those squares are cut from sewing two long jelly strips together
then cutting that pair in half; and then sewing into four;
and finally, then cut into 2.5" strips...
for the 16 patch block

The 8" squares are then cut diagonally
to be sewn on on each side]
↧↧↧

Here is the result...
I am going to be calling this one:
"Garden Stroll"
I feel the corners above look like
garden stepping stones...

*****************************************************
I guess I will be resting and icing my back today...

Thom is cooking spaghetti sauce for me....
:)))))))))))))) YAY!!

Be careful and stay safe now

MAY MAKING

"Merry Month of May"  for the Cinco de Mayo...
dark corners for a change....I thought that
fabric looked like a Mexican tile....

***************************************
And here is:
My small dresden for May RSC:

Ready to be layered up and pinned....

***************************************
And for a change of pace from hand quilting dresdens...⇊⇊
I took out my wool applique from a few months ago....
all prepped and ready to be stitched...

I just love that bird and the pumpkins....;)))
and have grown to even like that Prim cusp of moon....

I will be using Presencia "Finca" # 8 threads

Now................
I have to decide whether I just want to do black button hole
around all the pieces or if I would rather
match up the threads to the pieces....I'll have
to stare at it for a while to decide;))))
****************************************

I hope you were able to do some "fun" sewing today;)))

MUTED MONDAY (well almost)

                                                         May 4th's block-a-day....
[overcast skies again,,,= muted photos ;000)
********************************************
MAY RSC Hunt:
I dug into my scraps and only could find "Christmas" dark greens....

So I pulled those, and I decided to make some free-cut Christmas
dresdens next...(Actually, I was wondering if I would even get
any out of those  pieces, but managed 3 little ones)
                                                  ↧↧↧↧
As you can see there is very little dark green--
but I feel that with such a dark color
a little can go a LONG way....

I co-opted some leftover charm squares and my
favorite Jason Yenter leftover prints for the
                      dresdens...and the two larger circle
centers.  I added reds and golds to fill
out those few dark dark greens...

                     The background script fabric contains
                                 all Holiday words--
I only had a smallish piece of that
                                   and had to make
two hangings as it wasn't all that long
or wide enough to place all
                                        3 on one piece.....

This way, I will have the larger one for my cocktail table and the
smaller matching one for my glass top table in my living room...

For now....
These are just pinned in place ready for appliqueing tomorrow...

I am calling these "Joyeux Noel"

N>B>So much for "muted", right????
--Here I am babbling away
What a blatherskite I am.....;000

["yakkety yak, don't talk back" hahaha now that
song will be running
through your head today ...
You're welcome ;)))]
***************************************
Thom took us for a country backroads' ride after lunch...
The first time we have been out except for grocery shopping
since March 10th....
it was really weird--
roads practically
empty, cars in driveways,
eerie feeling...
but it was good to  get out even though
I really was a bit anxious about going...

We had our masks at the ready and our gloves--just in case
we had to stop for some reason...
the car battery was SO low--
we motored about one hour to help to charge it up.
👫😓😨

AM I BLUE...

I am still hand quilting away on my triple dresden "Seaside Spring"....
This is the last of the three...

I am flitting on over to Angela's at Super Scrappy a little bit late this week......
I have not even considered "dark green" as the new May color as yet....
I think I used up all my green scraps in january as my "Franken Quilt" was a combo
of both dark and light....we shall see....

****************************************

Here is "Merry Month of May" 's 3rd block:↡↡↡

She has that "blue" look  I think...

And the first three together...in my own block-a-day challenge to get my mojo
working again....
                       *******************************************************
I did wind  some bobbins and did a little clean-up of my room,,,,
but mainly feeling the "blues" a bit today...

It doesn't seem possible that we have been isolating since March 10th--but we have...
                                   A             VERY       L O N G        TIME...
hasn't it been?
***************************************
BUT      👫     '))))
Happily, the sun came out after a rainy morning...and we were able to sit on our
front patio--[Thom put up our  umbrella] and we sat in the shade for about
an hour...just relaxing and chatting until the ocean breezes started up
and cooled it all off...
**************************************
Sunday supper will be leftover homemade bean soup and the end of
my homemade bread loaf...(slathered with butter--oh yum!!)

I HOPE YOU HAD A PEACEFUL SUNDAY

FUN IN MAY

Here are the next three Courthouse Steps blocks...
These are taking much longer as fabrics
have been pared down a bit and so........
                                           decisions take longer...

Before I was really whipping through block making, but now, maybe
one a day...and I also had to cut more muslin squares and more triangles
for hourglass centers...

So far, I have 52 made up....all different...I have them all stacked in a pile
off to the side....
the burning question is will they all play well together?
?????????????????????????????????

And I have begun a new block-a-day project for the :
                                            " Merry Month of May...."

                                       Here are the first two....⇣⇣⇣⇣
I will try to make one each day so that I  will have 30 blocks
to make up into a lap quilt on May 30th......

                      Another easy-peasey and enjoyable project....

I hope your weather this Saturday is as pretty as ours is...nice and
sunny--if still a bit chill-making with the winds off the ocean.....
