I finished binding my "Flamingo Ojos" this morning
after having my early morning cuppa coffee on our deck...

And here are the cutest froggies on the backing fabric...
I just thought--how perfect to pair them up...;)))
wanted to cut it up--too neat as is;
so, a good choice to use with the flamingos...

doing grid lines and then onto squares until
the first of the year to see how it goes...
Our weather has finally calmed down
and the DP is only 63--making
for a lovely coolish late Summer day...

I'm reading blogs... Love your birds and frogs. I backed a wedding quilt for my ex-son in law and new wife with birds and bees - two separate fabrics. He's rid of her already... nobody liked her.
ReplyDeleteI love your Flamingo Ojos, Julierose! The sweet colors and prints really are fun to look at. I would love to do a daily stitching project like you are showing there. What size piece of the fabric did you buy? And does Karen Turner show you what she does each day on her YouTube show?

ReplyDeleteThe grid embroidery, esp adding moons, w daily inspiration sounds wonderful, you can do it every afternoon before cocktail time, lol. Or on cold winter mornings. When I did the Quilty 365 I kept a little notebook in my sewing basket and would note down each day's inspiration, bec the were, yes there were!, days I missed. I'd end up doing 5 or 6 some weeks. Bu I did keep up and it was very rewarding.
It's a lovely afternoon here but I couldn't settle sewing on the deck; I am in need of a quilting friend.

I love seeing both the flamingos and the frogs! So cute! I love your embroidery grid and your plan for a daily design. I'll definitely be watching your progress. You always find such fun projects!! Today's weather was great! I walked outside for a bit.

ReplyDeleteYou mentioned waiting until Jan 2027 to start the embroidery blocks - why wait? I don't think the embroidery police would come a'knockin' if you started Sept 1 instead. Just throwing that out there!
Your Flamingos Ojos is so pretty. The flamingo feet are cute too and definitely needed to be in the quilt.
