REMEMBERING MOM

                                                        "JE ME SOUVIENS, MAMA"

                                             Everyone called her Cherie......

Still missing you; never to be forgotten....

The marshes you loved are turning russet in the
                                  fading light.....
                                    and another Summer is
                                              leaving us.....

                                         hugs, "Ta petite chouette"

ISF AND ISR

ISF AND ISR ('Ive Seen Fire and I've Seen Rain) Round Deux ;)))

Playing catch-up with these 20 little log cabin blocks.  Linking with Julie K
and the "Loonies" doing this tiny log cabin block.

I am using the Mary Ellen Hopkins' strip method to put these together...laying each finished
round on pre-cut 1" strips and then trimming...

I am loving how the little snow covered Japanese houses and hills are looking fussy cut....
and the little Japanese Irises in the rain....

The next  2 rounds will be darks....

And here they are:

YOU'VE GOT MAIL

Just look at what Jacky (no blog yet;}}} ) sent me today..

I had sent her some fabric for her projects for the Autumn Craft Fairs coming up and she made these two lovely bookmarks for me...
Thanks so much Jacky--you are so sweet to think of me

As a huge fan of reading (I usually have at least 2 books on the go!) I am
always tearing off corners of this and that for bookmarks.. ;0000
.Now I have these...;)))
Just Perfect...they are lovely............

******************************************************
And when I am not quilting or reading...I am coloring and trying to learn to layer
...this is my B I G project following Color and Chat with Sammie on Youtube..
.       I find this soooo relaxing...
Some Yertle the Turtle Summer Fun time....;)))lol

Hugs on this hot and humid (AGAIN!) day in SE CT

LOG CABIN LOONIES

Step One on my Log Cabin Loonies....( a new squirrel for me!).
It is named:                             "I've Seen Fire and I've Seen Rain"

This was the brain child of  Julie K (click to visit ;))  )
I really think...they are certainly are the "looniest" tiny ones...;)))

STAY TUNED HERE for my "little" efforts (fingers & toes crossed).

The next step  will be the 1.5"  light round....
(going "widdershins" : counter clockwise--have to keep my balance--these are
dizzying) *)))

SCRAPPY SATURDAY

Working my scrappy blocks with the maroons leftover from "Free the Wild Horses";
and blues from my "Stars" wall hanging.....

You can see my orts from those two quilts laid out here by color......................

**************************************AND*****************************
Here is my salute to Autumn --
all from 2.5" squares and scraps;
and  I am using one fabric
of Summer's Bounty for the centers...

I've been wanting to try out this "Maverick Star"  block for a long time....
This will be a long term leader-ender project...

I love this red door.............
and
Pumpkins ripening....

****************************************AND**************************

Look at this lovely mug rug that DAWN sent me--a surprise happy mailing....
thank you Dawn, you are so thoughtful...I love it!
And the reverse:
Really really cute...

*******************************************AND******************** (G A S P E R S!!)
[File under "Squirrel" ...yup, totally enchanted....]

I am cutting 1" centers and strips to join in with the "Log Cabin Loonies" making this 4" finished (;ooo) log cabin block
(I must have lost my mind somewhere today--but I will give it a whirl...)
...at:
Another Julie ;))) 's blog...(click to find her)

go and check out her "teeney" tiny gorgeous piece....

(As you can see I am still using the same colors that are more orts from my Ojo di Dios
works above...)
AND, (sighing here) I am a little (well, actually, a lot!) concerned about the seam allowance thing...I figure it will be a "near thing--so I cut out extra centers
(for my friend "Just-in-Case)hahaha

(Wish me luck, fingers crossed, feet first, jumping in at the deep end...etc etc ðŸ˜“ )

RAIN AT LAST and USE IT UP

MY  HYDRANGEA LIKED THE SATURDAY RAINS.....

                                                   and....WE SO NEEDED THIS RAIN...

                                                   Blooming....

These will turn a pink-ey bronze at the Fall arrives--I hope to dry them for Winter...

**********************************************************************************************
And on the "Use It Up" front:

Here are the leftover blocks from my Paris wall hanging...
this will be a
table topper...
I have decided not to put these away--(leftovers) ---but just keep on
making blocks until these strings are gone or there are  not enough big
pieces to make these 6" blocks below............

The dark blue in the basket and the lights in the little empty Upton Tea box
are the only blue and light strings I have on hand....

I spent most of Saturday sorting out the other colors and bagging them up..
Enough already--no more storage...

The little container on the top right holds really small pieces that I cannot use
on these blocks...I hope to sew some "made" fabric with them and thus not have
anything leftover...no orts, sports ;))))
********************************************************
Severe humidity today feels like 109 here...unheard of...
hurray for AC..!!!

Hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (still stripping)
