FRIDAY FUN

Next two Courthouse blocks      (night shot)

Some really old and vintage looking fabrics in here...
I love those faded roses and the paisley...
and ↴↴↴↴

Here is a good example of fabrics I wish  had more of...but still have
a few strips left to use up...
I love that blue floral and the beige and the blue calicoes...
I am trying to sprinkle a few into each block along with my newer fabrics.

So, it seems, some blocks tend toward the more purple-y and
others blue-ish and
yet others peachy and maroon-ish and
pinks also...so VERY scrappy all over
 and in each block, too...

I have 27 blocks made so far...they are 9" unfinished...so I will now measure
the bed (it is king size) and try to figure out how many I will need...using
8.5" measurement...(that's right, right???);000
[Math-challenged moi]

That's all I made today-- there is a lot of thread
trimming and fabric trimming in making these--
so time consuming -- but fun, too...

Here is my table set up with cut strips:↡↡↡↡ I keep adding new ones...

 ********************************************************************
I was so tired--I slept for over 3 hours this afternoon--
and that is after 8 hrs last night!!   :'000.
Did some catching up on "Zzzz's" for sure...

Hope this finds you all taking care and healthy

COURTHOUSE STEPPING, ET AL

                                             Thursday's two Courthouse Steps.....

This one ranges towards

purples....

And
This one is more muted  and vintage-y looking I think..
These two were started actually
ON the 9"
muslin square;
the last 22 were made and THEN
put onto the muslin squares
with the last two rounds...
(if you understand?)

So today's take longer to make as
I am really starting from the center
and working around.

   EYE CANDY FOR YOU
↡↡↡↡

This is the 2nd year of our new Magnolia
that I got for my birthday last year..

I thought I'd better get a couple pictures before
the deer eat all the blossoms---
like they did last year ;0000
[It is about 5' 5" tall]
Thom just sprayed it with a deer/rabbit repellent.
Fingers crossed that will work...
***********************

I also worked on my RSC blues today, but will hold off
until Saturday to post them...
Hope this finds you all safe and sheltering in place
as much as you can...

TUESDAY'S FOUR, et al

                                                            COURTHOUSE STEPS...
I dug deep into my shelf piles; and found a few more Calico-
looking fabrics... and added those to the "lights" pile.

I guess that is what I really want more of-- calicoes-type
fabrics......not on white so much, as on a lightly tinted
background...(like 1980-90's style fabrics I guess);

these above were mostly of a  "peach" coloration,
but since this is a scrappy quilt (and king size!!)
I will take what I can find...
And, since this is going to be (hear me,  going to be!! hahaha)
king sized-- I think I will be able to
spread around the differing colorways
(she says hopefully;000)
**********************************
And
As in the food dept:  catch-as-catch-can tonight:
 BBQ'ued boneless pork ribs
done in the oven with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce and
potato salad --will be our dinner..

*****************************
Status on BJ's food delivery:

My BJ's list got smaller and smaller as they are out of stock of
a LOT on my list..
so today I will receive :
Potatoes, onions, saltines and jelly beans...(my own little treat).
that's all....
I will have to get very creative, right??

Seems ridiculous to have just these delivered...but they were
right out of a lot of things...;((((

I also have a cart at Big Y--but that won't be shopped until
Saturday...hopefully...
if this continues I will become another
masked and gloved shopper in the early morning...
despite the stricture that over 70's should not go out...
what can you do??

Take care,
Julierose, La Blageuse (still waiting on grocery deliveries-euse) ;000

IT'S MONDAY, RIGHT??

Monday's :  RSC-- Blue Makings Wall

                                   "Early Spring Chronicle"↟↟↟↟↟
                                    Uses my med↔small bits.....
Loving those little left-over robins...
that lighthouse and
a seagull in flight and
blueberries,
(can you find that last little bit of Winter in there--
turned upside down???)
and Spring skies...
                                Hope Springs Eternal...

**************************************
                                      "H" beginning.....

******************************************
I made these on long strips of telephone papers ↟↟↟

I, as yet, don't know how to integrate all these various parts...???
Or if i will or even add to them...
I may have enough for my
favorite Ojos--really tiny ones..we shall see...

***********************************************
AND.........continuing on toward a king size bed quilt..I made

                         Three more Courthouse Steps blocks

On these I am pulling my oldest fabric leftovers,
as well as newer ones --mixing and matching...cutting
as needed...

*********************************
Teeming downpours here right now;
and 60-70 mph high winds predicted for
later on today...

We pulled in all of our deck furniture and stacked it in our
dining room ... winds are picking up already...24 mph at
9 a.m.
**********************
We will be eating our big meal at noon today, as power outages
may occur later on when the winds pick up:
↡↡↡↡↡ It will be
Tuna salad on the rest of our store-bought bread
(toasted) layered on lettuce leaves...
                              and
french fries..made in our new Air Fryer--YUM

We are waiting for our grocery delivery --they tell me NOW
it will be this coming Saturday--
it was going to be tomorrow...;000

I am out of milk (so, black tea and coffee!! ugh),
and no eggs either at the moment...
so no baking possible ...

But.................

Yesterday Thom helped me core 4 apples and two pears for
an Apple/Pear Pie...it came out pretty well...if a little on the
mushy side --I guess because the pears were in there...
but--it's dessert and sweet ;))))right???

Fingers crossed that the delivery will actually be Saturday...
**************************
But I am so grateful that we are staying healthy so far....
~ ~ ~ waving on this dark Monday to you all and hoping you
are all staying safe at home...

QUILTING SEASIDE SPRING

Hand quilting using big stitch on "Seaside Spring"
                                      has begun......

I will be Joining Angela at Super Scrappy for our
RSC Saturday meeting..where we see everyone's
progress on their light blue projects...

I began stitching last evening while we were watching
"The Bourne Legacy"--
         not such a hot movie;000
              and the ending was awful--
                  just my  take on it...
***********************************************
I know this is Saturday (it is, right?) but it could really be any day...this
isolation has played havoc with any kind of scheduling that defined my
days and weeks....
And so it goes....

Improv Piece is big stitch-quilted .

Here is the backing fabric:
↡↡↡

Isn't this a great fabric?
I wish I had more of it (as usual);
but I only had purchased 1/2 yd
quite a while ago...

I hope this finds you all safe and secure,
sheltering in your homes
