SUNDAY'S WOOLIE PROJECT SET UP

My woolen pieces are all in place and ready for stitching...
I left out really tiny acorns and a petite corncob...for now anyway

 This is a buttermilk Basin  kit that I've had for a while;
it will be a change from cross stitching and embroidery
    for me in the evenings.....

[I may have to cut another moon...this one is from
the pattern, but I think it looks kinda skimpy ;((((]

I LIKE NO. 23

I like how this drawer is getting emptied out--finally ;000

I am thinking that I will make us new placemats with these rectangular
squares, adding borders of course...trying to cheer up these gray days
around here...
I've run out of enough turquoise squares to make up
                             another block.....just a few mis-matched ones left...
The contents of the drawer will be dumped into a bag and picked out randomly
to make up a big scrap piece with the "leftover"--leftovers (hahaha--lol)

******************************************
I like this quilt from Springleaf Studios blog....
Beautiful way to set Kaffee fabrics....
********************************************************

And I like this one also from Blue Elephant Stitches blogspot...

Since I haven't been well, I've been scouring bloglandia for inspiration and to
recharge my "mojo"....I like the low contrast backgrounds a lot....

*****************************************
And last, but not least, here is my first wool project being set up:

It is a Buttermilk Basin one; I am trying to get the "back" pieces down first and
then add the rest...pumpkins, branch, and bird and leaves.....this will become
my hand stitchery for the New Year.....

OCEAN SNOW et al

MY HOMAGE TO OUR FIRST SNOWFALL THIS YEAR

I had begun this little piece last year and then--it got put in my drawer...and
pushed aside for some reason...

I just really love this little Japanese print of houses in the snowy hills...
we live on a  cul-de-sac hill just above the ocean..a short 5 minute walk away...
so this just seemed to come together....

Again, so like me---;000, I don't know where this is going...but for now, it's
just a little remembrance....
*****************************************************
Here are a few more little squares that morphed into rectangles;)))

And these are ready to sew...↓↓↓

that iris blue print is a
favorite of mine....

As you can see they are getting wonkier and more wonkified..;)))
BUT
I have, at least,  made a dent here:

Now it's just bits and bobs left of this and that...so these may become
border strips for some future project....we'll see.
******************************************
AND, here is the start of a new wool project:
I ironed a stabilizer onto the cotton background to help support the coming
woolen fuse-appliqued pieces...

I think I am back in the "sewing mode",,, finally....:))))

FOUND: FOUR PATCHES & MOJO

I opened some storage drawers today and found a whole lot of
                                                                        Four patches...

                                                  These are leftovers from
The Curious Quilter's  postage stamp swap of a few years ago...

Somehow,  someone who was supposed to send 50 different squares ended up
sending me all turquoise ones...

                                                    Some were all flowery
***********************************************************************

I have been away from my sewing since I came down with some sort of virus that has
kept me under the weather...as a matter of act, on Thanksgiving, I was really
not feeling well...but with all my helpers we managed to put on a wonderful meal
and have fun, too...;)))))

So, I decided to sew a few together...groups of twelve...that seemed to mesh ...

Ironing all my seams open, as I prefer, in order to allow me to hand quilt more easily...and keep the
piece very flat....

I still have 2 drawers full to try to put together...
and these will be all scrappy as they do not match in any way....

SO.........................
where am I going with this, you ask???
Frankly, I have no idea...

I am just trying to get my sewing "mojo" back...
I had a little "talk" with myself and said "Just get in there and sew...."

BASKET IN PROGRESS, et al

Here is my basket in progress...I am struggling with needleturn...;000
I need to push that handle down under more...and try to relax as I go...

My previous post featured a screenshot of Jan Patek's finished block--
[See those lovely nails..certainly not mine!! ]

                              Here is her beautiful finish...
                                      "Look Ma--no lumps or bumps"
                                                Don't I wish.....

Meanwhile, I much prefer the starch and press method so far.....
more time spent prepping, but a breeze to sit and sew....at least
for me...
***************************
I've finished Autumn Dresden...............

Here it is on our cocktail table....
With a collection of little candles to warm us up..

*********************************************
This morning I have my 6 month 👀 exam...maybe my headaches are
related to my glasses?  We'll find out....

************************Then............
Tonight's dinner will be my crock pot Beef Stew along with the other half of my No Knead bread that I had frozen... a nice comforting dinner on yet
another gray rainy day....

TGIF everyone...hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (testing-euse)
