SPRING BREAK TIME

Everything is fine--
just going to take a
bit of a break for now...
;))))
Here are a few other Springtime
views of my lovely
front rockery daffodils:

Things are beginning to come out...

MORE GLUE BOOKING and FABRIC SCRAP SORTING

Working on my yellow pages--
Asian inspired above;)))
&
I made this one
"Medallion Style"
Somehow the central image
 reminded me
of a Van Gogh
with those colors..
AND
 some Black and white pages
These "base" pages will need some
embellishments...
[Sorry for the glare--the shiny
mag images are hard to photograph...]
click on any to enlarge..

*************************
Meanwhile
I am sorting my fabric scraps by colors;
just a bit each day--
I find a lot of multi-colored ones hard
to classify into a specific
color--so I have begun a
Multi (I don't really
know what color it is ) baggie ;)))

**********************
I am sending Helga off for a Spring Spa
week as I am not doing much sewing
right now...I have done the
under the needle stuff, but feel that
it should have a more thorough
cleaning--it's been 8years
since her last check up...
*****************
FYI: for those of you asking about
my recuperation from
Long Covid....
I am much much better:
I still have an ear blockage
and tire easily...but today, as
it is 67  and sunny
here, I took a short walk
by the ocean--
ahhh so refreshing--
though there was still a coolish
ocean breeze about...

I hope you are enjoying our journey
into Springtime..

SPRING SLOW STITCHING and FORMULA 1

We are watching the Austrailian Grand Prix
Practice 3 and...
I have begun a small slow stitching project:
I am calling "Spring Rain"
↓↓↓↓
First, I dyed these scraps with some of my
watercolor paints in a little
container of water; ironed them when dry;
then I collaged
them onto a lightweight piece of
batting and tacked them into place.

I have  begun working on the hand stitching
while watching F1 (Formula One). ;)))

Although these ARE scraps, they are
totally different from my usual
scrap pieces...in that they are all in
the same light colorway...
palest of Spring greens...

Some are pieces of old pillow cases,
some linen scraps and some muslins...

I am having to pace myself while
hand sewing...a little bit at a time...

*************************************
Today is a rainy day here with very gray skies;
but our grasses are starting to show green and
my daffodils are starting to poke up with their
bit of greenery...
It has begun to feel like Spring;)))

NEW GLUE BOOK FUN

"EN MASSE" :

Dictionary Definition for En Masse....
"Adv: In one group or body; all together"

***********************
Above is my Title Page on the right and
some of my categories on the left.
[Thanks Shannon Green (YT-er)
for these suggestions....]
💋
Here is the first double spread
all squares and rectangles:
"ROSES"
and
the 2nd :
↧↧↧↧
"FACES"
Using squares and rectangles once again.

Followed by
a double spread in progress
↓↓↓
"Fashion"

You can see from the Fashion pix that
I have cut out each single "fashionista" or
group and fit them
together puzzle-like to cover
all the cream colored background..

These are more difficult as I have "fussy cut"
a lot of the girls--so fitting them together
is a bit challenging.

Working on these pages reminds me of
this Yo-Yo fabric Coverlet--
Which I would dearly love to make
for a Summer bed spread...
AND

my Ojos works:

******************************

I am so enjoying working in these
glue books, searching for images
and fussy cutting...
It is really very  relaxing
 with my
Pandora radio on in the
background shuffling a
variety of musical styles...

*******************************
I am working out of a lot of back issues
of mags that I have been
hoarding
over the years and
not really knowing
W H Y ???

[answer to Tom's question:
"Why do you need all these
old magazines?"]
HAHAHAHAHA
It is great to be using them up👌💋😊
***********************************
I hope you are enjoying this Saturday...
It is raining pretty hard here with
lowering grayed clouds...
but it is
"sunny" in my craft space;)))

LAYERED UP

I was finally able to layer up
my "Orange You Glad"
 Table runner ;)))

It measures 20" x 48"--
so it will be perfect
for my dining table.

I cannot believe how tired
 I got just from getting
this done!! 👾
But it is all ready for
leisurely pin basting now...
Hurrah...✌👀👍💛💚

PAPER PLAY PROJECT

I pulled out my old rolodex
a week ago and have been
working on teaching myself
how to
collage on these cards--
I also took out all my old stamps and
inking pads for this project...

I am using the Alpha cards as prompts;
the first three for "A" are:
Artichoke, Apple and Architecture
and
here are the reverse sides using the
same prompts:
I am really having fun using up bits and bobs
of papers leftover from my long ago
scrapbooking days...

Here is the letter "B"
Boat, Butterfly and Book
and the reverse
I am collaging both sides as the cards hang both ways
on the rolodex...
What a fun project...
A little change ....

***********************
For those of you who have been
asking and wishing me well--
I am beginning to feel better...
I still have symptoms and
that horrid "brain fog",
but on the whole,
I think I am coming out of it..
Fevers are fewer and farther between...
Phew this has been a real drag!!

REVISITING "ORANGE YOU GLAD", et al

I finally got to sew my
"Orange You Glad" Ojos
blocks together, doing
just a couple when I
felt okay--or as ok
as these lingering
remnants of
Covid allowed!!

It will be a long
runner for my dining table..
I will be hand quilting it
 as I love how my
smaller Ojos came out--
all crinkley!! 👌😄😄

Here are the
final scraps from these projects...
↧↧↧↧
This table was piled high when I
began...so I am making Chinese coin
strips with the rest...you can see my
progress with these
on the right of the above photo...
******************
Here is the Composition Color Glue Book project
I have been working at
off and on...cutting and gluing
is a very easy and relaxing
project even when you are not
feeling that great:)))
⇊⇊⇊⇊
[Sorry for the magazine's images glare]
and
Here are two of the Orange background pages...
I love searching for images in each color
and fitting them together on the page.

I will be adding "fussy-cut" images over
these...still in the page's colorway.
[Eg: see the fussy cut oranges on
the top right above]
This is such fun;)))

There are four pages for each color of the spectrum
along with black and white and white on white...
the only backgrounds I have yet to
finish up are
the red ones--I haven't found
many red pages in my old
stack of magazines...

Orange seems to be the theme
of my projects lately.
😁😅😇
********************
For those of you who've wished
me well during this Covid
bout--thank you so much--
I hope to continue to get better.
It is an on-and-off thing from day to day.
Still resting and napping a whole lot.
Please stay safe and wear your masks...
