ReplyDeleteI went to hairdresser. Was fine. She called me in and was the only one in salon. I need to go again before surgery.

The x's in the butterfly are echoed by the diamond dots in the portrait. Hair salons here reopened June 1. I get my hair cut every eight weeks, so I missed just one haircut during the shutdown. All salon personnel wear masks and customers must wear them to enter. The only time my mask comes off during a haircut is when she trims the ears, and then it's one ear, trim, replace; then the other ear, trim, replace. (Since my style is natural the only treatment I get is a haircut.) I cut my husband's hair twice during the shutdown and for his sake we were REALLY glad when the barber shop reopened. (Masks for personnel and customers there, too.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a hair cut since Feb. and I usually wear my hair short but I was wanting to grow it out a little and now I had my chance. I can't say all days are good hair days but I'm not ready for a haircut yet.
ReplyDeleteI have gone to get mine cut/trimmed twice now since restrictions were eased. Her salon is VERY careful with only one client per time slot (the two stylists alternate days). But I'm also letting my hair grow a bit longer into a different style. Eventually I'll get to 8 weeks between cuts if all goes well (or maybe longer - I'd rather have longish hair than take too many risks).

ReplyDeleteI've been reading [slightly sappy] women's fiction by Barbara O'Neal---in her books all the older women have very long hair! In a braid or loose even. I don't like getting my hair cut, so I cut my hair myself unless I have an event to go to. Pony tail and bangs. I cut my ponytail ends when it takes too long to dry. So I won't go to the salon. I have a male friend whose barber cuts all the guys hair outside in the yard! The gang all get together and socially distance/ masks/ while they get haircuts. Cool.
How about long and doing a french twist for you?
PS at the IV clinic last week, doctor's office and clinis, it was very busy NO distancing, small room with five patients getting their IVs done, waiting room full...much scarier than a salon who sees one person at a time. I cleaned my own chair with my dwindling supply of wipes: when will Clorox start delivering wipes again??

I have not had an official haircut since I don't know when. I cut it myself in June. It is again too long but I'll probably cut it myself (soon). Going to the hairdresser in the first place is not one of my favorite things to do. I wish I had thicker hair so it would look better.
ReplyDeleteResident Chef is still cutting my hair and will for the foreseeable future. He's doing a good job so I have no need to go elsewhere. My friend tried to make an appointment for hers last week and couldn't get in anywhere earlier than mid-November.
