I've machine quilted all the long strip lines
on my 1st Flowering Snowball Quilt...
I really love this pattern...
and
I got to showcase
the end of my favorite
"cherries" fabric....and
use a lot of those little,
scrappy squares...
I will quilt my 2nd
Flowering Snowball
{I like the pattern so much
I made another one!!}
over this long weekend...

My magnolia has already
flowered this year;
today I looked out and saw.....
New flower buds all over it--
at least 12 of them....!!!
I had no idea that it could or would flower
twice in one season...
:)))
Has anyone else had this occur???

We are having a slow, quiet day here.
I made Tortellinni Pasta Salad for
dinner early this morning and
we've just finished off the rest of
my minnestrone soup from 2 days
ago for our lunch...
{um, followed by two chocolate
mint cookies--yum}.

I hope you are all enjoying this
Fourth of July Holiday
It's a nice, long one this year.

Happy 4th of July!! Love your Snowball quilt! Your magnolias look like they're going to be so pretty. I didn't know magnolias could bloom twice. Enjoy them!!
ReplyDeleteYou could add a little hand quilting in your snowball centers perhaps? Or not, of course it is up to you.
ReplyDeleteTrimming is the fun part, cleaning up that edge.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a nice second blooming on the magnolia.
I looked your magnolia up, mostly bec it looks unlike any magnolia I have ever seen. Anyway some people call it a saucer magnolia, and perhaps it is evergreen? They say it can bloom twice, spring and fall OR some cultivars bloom in the spring and sporadically thru the summer.
ReplyDeleteYour Snowball quilts are wonderful.
Your snowball quilt is beautiful. Love scrappy
ReplyDeleteI can see why that cherry fabric would be a favourite - probably because cherries are my favourite fruit.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about magnolias so haven't a clue if they can flower more than once.
Very nice snowball quilt, Julierose. How big is this one? Your magnolia is quite healthy and showing off with a second blooming. Hope you had a nice 4th!
ReplyDeleteThe cherries fabric is so elegant! The tortellini salad sounds scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteThe snowball blocks is one of my favorites too. Gorgeous cherry border fabric! I adore magnolia trees- the blooms smell heavenly. Have a lovely week, Julierose. Hugs
