In going through my stash, picking out destash
fabrics, I found these little fans hiding away in
my "blues" stack ....
{Oh my gosh, I had forgotten
all about these
little cuties!!"}....
They just inspired me...
And....
I decided that everybody needs a "fan" in this
heat wave ;)))
and so....
I picked some cool greens; went into my
greens little
"bits and bobs" baggie; and
made some "strippies" to put
between
my little blocks.
and for the
1/4 corner arcs...
The only fabric that comes from a 1/2 yd stash piece
is the final border.....
********************************
And speaking of my stash...
I have been "halving" all my fabrics for donating
to a few quilters who make donation quilts...
Since I am no longer able to handle making
big quilts I decided that
I would give some
fabrics to people
who will use them...so
many can enjoy the fruits of their labors..
😍
And
I still have a lot left, believe me....
👀😮👀
I have gone through 5 major colors and
have four left from the
color coded stacks
I had set up...
And....
[this does not take into account
any boxes or coordinating
fabric lines that I have hoarded :
eg. my "Ghastlies" line
which I plan to use for my grand girls'
project in the "thinking stages"
right now ...etc etc!!!]
Plus I just got a lovely pkg from
Quiltdivajulie of tone-on-tones
that is just amazing...
thanks you so much QDJulie
for your generous gift...
💝💖💓
*********************************
Since i have to be resting my hands from actual
stitching...I have set up the next two
pages in my batting book ready
to be stitched when I can....
of favorite fabrics
that I have accumulated a long time
and want to remember..
It should be fun paging through this
book and seeing them all....
"Moonrise Over Water"
These are the next on my list
to be worked on...
For now they are just resting on my little
corner table....
***********************
It is 91.2 degrees with a
"feels like" temp of 101.8 out there...
[We are staying in our AC...]
This keeps on going "UP"-it is
now only 3:15p.m.--
At least the dew point has dropped
off a bit to 75--
Uhhh????
Did I say "dropped off"????
Imagine that, everything is
relative, I guess...
Stay cool everyone, and hydrate....
Hugs, Julierose

Waiting for a new Sci-Fi (to me anyway) book to come in...not much reading
ReplyDeletethese days...mainly cutting for glue booking and crossword puzzling.....;)))
Hey, your little fans are darling. Like you say everyone could use a fan right now. We are 93 degrees today but it's only 19% humidity so it's hot but it's not unbearable. Love the green and neutral pieced sashing.
ReplyDeleteThe fans are just perfect for this weather. Ocean Flower is so pretty! Your batting book is going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that your hands are not too good again, at leas you're able to do a little by setting up your next pages, I do like the blue and coral in your fabrics. Your find of the fans was a happy accident then and the sashing is perfect.
ReplyDeleteSummer Fans is darling . I love the sashing. Your new pages in your journal as looking great, Julierose. I wish you a lovely day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteSummer of fans - sounds like my house😂. I love the page you have set up for stitching.
ReplyDeleteLove those little fans! Hot and humid and miserable here, too (we get outside between sunrise and 7:30 am for grass cutting, weeds, etc. and then hibernate indoors the rest of the day/evening. I miss the way things cooled off after sunset when we lived in Michigan and northern Indiana.
ReplyDeleteThose fans are adorable, Julierose. And your journal pages are too. Hope you get a break in the heat soon!
ReplyDeleteYour little fans are so cute! I have the cutting die for a fan block and have been trying to decide which fabric to use for it.
ReplyDeleteWe finally have cooled off this evening. It was warm but humidity was dropping today.
Sweet little fans, love them. Takes time sorting fabric, such a great idea to pass it forward.
ReplyDeleteThe fans are charming -- the wonky scrappy sashing adds zest! Congratulations on your fortitude in destashing. It's delightfully COOL here this morning with lots of sunshine. Hope you get some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteThose fans are the best kind because you don't have to expend any energy wafting them to get a breeze.
ReplyDeleteI like the batting book most particularly from the standpoint that you are using bits of your favourite fabrics. It will bring back pleasant memories each time you look through it.
