SLEIGH BELLS RING...ALREADY??

Here's the start of my Christmas Postage Stamp piece.  I have the right to left  rows sewn together and now for the "matching up" part to sew  horizontally.  I have been collecting these 2.5" mini charm packs for a bit and notice that there are not a lot of greens in there--no hollies, no firs, no pines....lol

(Do ya think that one light green should be replaced?  It kinda sticks out, doesn't it? All the other greens are of that muted [sickey] greenish color...)
I'll just have to GO!Baby cut my own greens to go with all the reds I guess

 I have wanted to make a simple Christmassy quilt for a while and although this is straightforward sewing, all that matching will be a challenge for me.

And here's my favorite little charm:

I wanted to join up with the postage stamp swap this year, but I have nowhere near enough to swap.  And also, I seem to get overwhelmed when I  'join" up for things...{sigh}. Trying to stay "REAL" here and not bite off more than I can chew.

MEANWHILE:
Ol' Georgie Peorgie is in the corner sulking while I try to figure out if I should re-do those durn little triple nine-patches (and of course that means taking it all apart !! AGAIN) as they didn't all come out right and I CAN SEE IT!!!! ACK!!!
 I can hear him muttering in that corner...he'll just have to be patient (and he does fib, he says " get on with it, so what if they're uneven".  I hope he holds it down so I can sleep at night!!  )

We have turned on the AC here--can you imagine October 15th and the dewpoint is up to 69!!  Hot hot hot!

Still working on lozenges slowly...

RAINY SATURDAY LOZENGE BEGINNING

Here is the start of my Lozenge Quilt piece; I am using all Asian themed prints (of which I have way too many from long ago) and little black corners alternating with my tea-dyed white-on-white fabrics--I LOVE tea dying these--(tho' sometimes it's coffee with cinnamon sticks, too yummy.) [oh and please excuse that ugly lamp cord hanging in there--it's so dark out today--stormy and raining].
Inside that mauve plastic container are all of the 2.5" squares that I have collected for doing a postage stamp quilt....anxious to start on that, too--BUT--waiting until Georgie P. is done.

Here's my lovely geisha holding court ...I like her with black corners--we'll see how my tea colored ones look as I go along. As you can tell, my lozenge quilt will be horizontal instead of vertical--sigh.....I was able to use my GO!Baby cutter to precut all these pieces--YAY--no rotary cutting!  

and here, some gold edged Ginko leaves blowing in the breeze.....

I will be alternating between this pattern and finishing up Georgie Peorgie's borders.   Just so easily distracted am I?  Wellll, I HAD to see how these lozenges would look.  
Actually have 8 more sets of two started--these babies are time consuming but fun.  

I am so elated that we are finally getting a rainy day--my poor mums --a lovely, dark maroon color that I just love given to me by a friend last year--are drying up and not blooming very well.  I hope this cooling soft drink will revive them--- along with the last of my maroon and cheddar marigolds (now there's a good combo for a quilt!).

GEORGIE PEORGIE SMELLS THE ROSES & MORE

I changed the large squares so that Mr. George could stop and smell the roses lol!  
I am trying out different large blocks to surround His Excellency!

 I'd like to fancy that his wife must have had a rose garden and that he took the time to stop and enjoy the attar of roses.....

I think I like these as well as the black with red roses blocks; I will use both in my quilt but I somehow think that this will be the center of it....
I need to cut out more large blocks and {sigh} more nine patch squares.....

Here's a closer look at those prints.....

I have made up a little list of "Things I'd Like To Make" over these next many months....

1) Georgie Peorgie ;

2) Lozenges;

3) Kitty Kats; (I haven't as yet decided on fabrics for these....)

4) Some kind of Log Cabin As-You-Go...to learn the process; and

5) Are you ready for this one?? A Christmas themed Postage Stamp Quilt--using up all those mini charm packs I have collected. I will be using 2.5" squares--

Now this ought to keep me busy and yet not bored....and hopefully won't freeze me up....am I being too ambitious?  Perhaps......

AND...I haven't forgotten this one up on my design wall either:

I have to decide if I should use sashing or not, this is the one I have to leave up and try to figure out what I want/need to do to it....I want to use it as a wall hanging over our wine cabinet in our re-done dining room.  I think the colors will be right in there....we'll see.
