This is where I left off in...................OMG: in JULY --😓😕😢😞😞
see there, I'm out on our deck,
quilting away...meantime................in between time...........
my poor Pomegranates have languished in my tote bag
since then. YUP, nada quilting.....
I guess I just lost my M O J O for this project. :<(((
I visited Kathy's quilts this morning for her Slow Sunday Stitching
posting and immediately thought about Poms...
they are resting underneath a side table that
I face in our tv room...all the time...
and I have AVERTED my
👀 (eyes)
up until this morning.
Kathy stated it well...we do get discouraged (or at
least I have) once in a while...
even though this is one of my favorite quilts...
So, today I am (seriously) going to pick it up
(I can see the excitement shaking the tote bag over there
as I write this lol)
and just tell myself--
one row just one row.;}}}}
and see what happens. While I watch the Patriots Game in here....
Thanks so much, Kathy for airing out this frequent quilting problem that
seems to arise now and then...for me, at least....and cheering us on....
*****************************************************
Sunday dinner tonight will be Thom's (aka hubby, hubster, Dear One,
Mr. Wonderful) marinara sauce and spaghetti noodles...so nice and light...
and a day off cooking for me YAY!!!
(yesterday I made Bean soup for our dinner--which is a recipe with many
steps).
He claims his back (which he threw out last Tuesday night)
needs for him to move around and he has a "taste" for
marinara today...Right now he's on the heating pad and doing his computer
stuff--something about plane spotting and ADSB ...urgh!!👴
So you see, no excuses, I just need to get to that hand quilting...
RIGHT???......(stay tuned to see wha' hoppen ;}}} )
hugs, Julierose, La blageuse (slurping noodles-euse) ;)))
*Edited to add:*
2:00 p.m.:
Got a few rows done, anyway before my hands began hurting...
My little scissors magnet kept me company. About 1/3rd of little side triangle...
[Patriots ahead so far....;)))]

FRIDAY FOLICS
Here is the start of my side strips for my Ojos; I have decided to go with the softer "rain" strips using this stash:
↴
All leftovers from my ISF and ISR and the Ojos...(on the top is the other muslin strip)..
I want to build these on muslin as the Ojos are on muslin...to keep
the layers even.....
A little test picture to see how they will play--they will interrupt the diamonds
of rain and fire...just enough, I think, without being too busy...
Y E S!! Always fun when ideas you dream about look good to you...
isn't it?
This is such another fun way to sew...slapping strips down and ironing →
and repeat....⇶..
*****************************
And now for my latest stars....
A doorway into Autumn with this orange.....pumpkins, Halloween,
And this one leading onto
A scent of pine in the air presaging Winter's arrival--not too soon,
I hope--will be going out to get our favorite McCoun apples tomorrow...
I only got 2 stars finished this week as both hubster and I were
under the weather ☔ -- it was raining inside and out here!!
But we are feeling better--at least I am--his back is still O U T ! ;(((
ouch
poor guy😱ðŸ˜ðŸ˜¬...
************************************
This noontime we are treating ourselves to Genoa Salami Grinders--our
favorite...for our big meal at lunchtime...along with a few
Cape Cod chips...
So, mes amies...
That's the news from chez Julierose today ;*}}}
Hugs to you all,
Julierose, La Blageuse (chomping happily-euse)

DP: GREEN EYE
My latest Diamond Painting canvas (DP) "Green Eye"--
This is a smaller piece and I am moving along pretty quickly.
I love doing these. smaller ones...
I plan to frame this and hang it over my
sewing room worktable..
("I'm keeping my eye on you!" lol).
I think what I like best about doing these, is seeing the picture emerge as you add the
diamonds...and the fact that it is so sparkle-ey...and such a quiet craft--I was up,
unable to sleep tonight; and so , I inished the next to last section
with my cuppa "Joe" and .........................................
S I L E N C E
That lovely hush in the middle of the night that feels like velvet...
away from the hustle
and bustle of daily living and noises.....
And................
Sometimes, I can hear a whisper of the ocean waves washing our shoreline....
and the lonely whistle of a night train streaming by........
C A L M.....
Hugs to you all,

LOG CABINS
I decided to SEW THESE IN ONE LONG STRIP with the 20 little blocks grouped
in 4-sies... and I chose the "fire" setting (ISF and ISR) .
Now I need to figure out what I WANT to USE THEM FOR.....;???)))..
SO..........This is resting and simmering until I get another brainstorm....hopefully soon.
In the meantime visit JULIEK to see how the rest of us Log Cabin Loonies are doing...
*************************************************************
To the right of these are my strippy blocks: "Ojos",
with both fire and rain settings
Teeming, pouring rain here today--so making some more Stars and diamond painting...
and sewing Ojos into rows....A quiet, sleepy afternoon....

STAR-A-DAY
Here
is
Thursday's
Apple
Star
AND
Here is Friday's Autumnal Star
I am making one star per day; do you have a "routine" that you set up for
repeat blocks?
I really enjoyed figuring out how I wanted to set up the steps
in making these stars....somehow knowing that by heart now, gives me a great
deal of satisfaction and pleasure...
no fiddling about, no wondering "what next".
Just picking the squares, and the center, and deciding the star point colors;
then row by row, always ironing the seams open...and VOILA!! 😻 Instant
happiness and gratification...
I am a person who likes repetition...
I think this must come from my piano background
when I would go over and over a section to get it
just right....maybe??? And never got sick of doing it that way....
My Ojos strip blocks and even log cabins fall right into this method....
**************************************************************
In thinking back on my quilt making processes, I see that my choices of blocks
and strips fall on this method of a "routine"; and maybe that is why I've
never made any quilts with all different blocks...
I do think they are beautiful--- like especially:
LORI'S (click to see this beauty ) "Sweet Liberty" quilt.
I am so drawn to this.....
but have never gone down that road...
the closest I've come are the very few applique
pieces I've made .
Soooo, What is your favorite quilt making method (s)??
**************************************
I hope this wonderful refreshing, cooler weather has come to your home....
hugs for a super weekend....

DIAMOND PAINTING PROGRESS
Here is my progress on my Lighthouse Diamond Painting so far....
I have a few small areas still left to fill as yet, across the mid-and bottom sections....
I began this 35c x 45c picture on September 1st.
*******************************************************
The back story to my beginning this new craft adventure, is that I have always wanted to learn counted cross stitch; but I just cannot see well enough (or seemingly COUNT
well enough !) to do it--I have a few messed up pieces stashed away that prove my point...
AND, so...while I was
surfing through Youtube,
looking (well, drooling over lol) cross stitchery that many are doing, and wishing I
could do it too......
I came across Stitcherista's channel-- where she does cross stitch---
and what was this?
something called diamond painting--what is this, I asked??
Lovely pictures that when finished are all sparkle-ey and
look like cross stitch or mosaic pieces...be still my 💓....
And so my journey began....
I am so enjoying this craft --maybe because I used to love to do
paint by number as a child...it is similar...and
you have to work S L O W L Y to place
all the little diamond bits correctly...which I find very relaxing...
I will frame this canvas when it is finished--oh--and I have a few more
waiting in the wings--ya think?
Hugs

SUNDAY STANDINGS
FIRE SETTING OF "isf and isr"
I decided to use the "Fire" (dark center) setting of
"I've Seen Fire and I've Seen Rain" ...
I've had to really trim down a LOT :(((--and so it goes....
And now I am deciding what to use as a border....it needs to simmer a bit....
**********************************************************
My Ojos are set up with alternating Fire and Rain centers...
These need coin borders I've decided....
(you can see that the leftovers from this piece inspired my ISF and ISR
loony log cabin piece...at JULIEK'S BLOG --
hop on over for
a visit to see all the little log cabins for her sew-a-long...)
*****************************************************************************
And my Maverick Stars --re-named "Star Eyes" have gotten to this point....
I don't know about the setting as yet; just enjoying the Star flight for now.....
************************************************************
And here are Fiona and Willa after their soccer games.....
FIONA
Big sister on the deck giving little sister a hug...and...................
Don't you just love this one....they are so sweet....love you girls....💓💓💖💋💋
****************************************
Sunday dinner is leftover pot roast from Friday's meal:
Thom will have the works-- gravy and all, while
I will have a nice sandwich with lettuce and tomato and potato puffs--
which, by the way, we have just re-discovered after years
of not finding any....they are super good (lips smacking herelol)
We are definitely potato fanatics....;)))) yummy....
hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (sitting on the deck-euse and reading)
