My latest Diamond Painting canvas (DP) "Green Eye"--
This is a smaller piece and I am moving along pretty quickly.
I love doing these. smaller ones...
I plan to frame this and hang it over my
sewing room worktable..
("I'm keeping my eye on you!" lol).
I think what I like best about doing these, is seeing the picture emerge as you add the
diamonds...and the fact that it is so sparkle-ey...and such a quiet craft--I was up,
unable to sleep tonight; and so , I inished the next to last section
with my cuppa "Joe" and .........................................
S I L E N C E
That lovely hush in the middle of the night that feels like velvet...
away from the hustle
and bustle of daily living and noises.....
And................
Sometimes, I can hear a whisper of the ocean waves washing our shoreline....
and the lonely whistle of a night train streaming by........
C A L M.....
Hugs to you all,
Julierose, La Blageuse (toute seule-euse)

Have you ever thought about the different types of quiet/silence? Love your diamond painting.
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting craft. I look forward to seeing it framed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful picture!! Silence. We NEVER have silence where I live. Even when I take the dogs out in the middle of the night I hear the sound of traffic. I don't count the insect and frog sounds as breaking the silence but enhancing it. I live by train tracks and they blow a whistle at each crossing through the town. Just the other night I longed for total silence. I fear it is a lost luxury.

Nice work, Julierose.
ReplyDeleteSilence can be 'deafening.'
Our family has traveled to wide open spaces in Idaho, Eastern Oregon and Montana. The quiet in those places, in the middle of the night, can be felt.
And the stars you can see on a clear night are astounding.
There are people who live in those areas too. What a priviledge.
This is quite striking! I have lived in the Far North...talk about quiet with a beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteI love that feeling when the quiet is all around you. So calming. Love this project! It will look great staring down at you!
ReplyDeleteI am awake in the night a lot but can't move around for fear of waking people up. You make it sound such a beautiful, romantic time.
ReplyDeleteLove your description of the calm in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely prose you wrote. Yes, the middle of the night's quiet is like velvet, absorbing all the noise.
ReplyDeleteI still remember how quiet it was after 9/11 with no planes flying. I had no idea how much noise they added, especially at night.
ReplyDeleteyour new diamond piece is compelling - have fun
