I LIKE # 31

                     I like this olive oil infused body cream for feet and hands
                                               in the cold Winter months

I like having this for breakfast on these cold days....

New to me this week...
But I usually like this brand...

                                       Oooh nice and creamy and yummy.....a real
                                              "Stick to your Ribs" breakfast...

Finally I like using up the old free cut wedges from three years ago when I was trying
to do Improv Curves  ↣↣↣↣ ↓↓↓↓

                 Since they were all wonkified, it was a challenge to sew them together....
and
it's not really a circle, is it!! Hahahaha,,
it has a bulging part on the right...

I am just calling it an Improv Circle...works for me:)))

I am getting my orange fabrics for February RSC all lined up.....

                      I have quite a few small pieces and some
cut offs and 3 or 4 charms in along with the really tiny pieces
I've saved from making my grandson Steven's "Going Away to
College" quilt....
ummm he is now a Junior at UCONN....so 3 yrs later.....;000

Orange is his favorite color...not so much mine...but then, 
February is a short month lol...

GREENS-GOING GOING--GONE

                                                    My empty greens baggie...now all that's
                                        left are those tiny bits all sewn
                                            into "at least "twosies" for
                                              a future "scrap vomit" quilt...

                              these are really tiny...but I loved sewing
                                them all together chain style....
My plan was to use up ALL the bright greens this month....

I need to take a few minutes here and there to iron them; and
then maybe sew them into a few pieces like these:

                                    for a future crumb block piece...

I also found this larger leftover piece that I will store with them ....

I used up the rest of the little square border chains to surround this....
For the most part, I am done with the "sewin' of the greens" here....

This is what I am sewing this week--I am only sitting at my machine for
very short spurts...glad to be able to sew again....at least a little

I have always loved chevrons, but was so fearful of 
making 1/2 sq triangles  (don't ask me why!) 
that I never tried them...and now I am smitten....💖💓💖💝
I began with some leftover layer cake squares...and these haven't 
been trimmed up as yet...just sewn...

I DREW all THREE lines and just sewed on the lines....yes!! ;)))

Today i will be making some green ones...
It seems very elementary doesn't it, 
but I had never thought about drawing sewing lines
before...duh...💃😂🙏

We did see the sun for a bit today, but now the clouds are coming
in once more...I really think that this January has been the
grayest month in a long while...;(((

FINISHIN' O' THE GREENS

Waiting for borders......
I have a few scraps leftover, but since I haven't been able to sew for
a week with my sore shoulder/arm problem they have been just
sitting there....;000

Not too many left
I may sew them two by two
and put them away toward a
scrappy piece later...

               I was all set up to make some more, but.....instead
am waiting S * I* G * H*.....

And I like:

FINALLY, finally --finding my best method for making 1/2 square
                                                 Triangles...
Love that chevron pattern.....I began with 10" layer cake squares
thinking bigger is better....
and used the diagonally marked method-- 
but I  also marked the sewing lines on either side--
as it seems (seams lol) I cannot sew a
true straight line w/o them...;))) 
                                         Whatever works, right??

Not a like....but............↡↯↯↯↯............

Hubster posted this on my sewing room door.....as I wrenched my 
right shoulder/arm while cutting through FOUR layers of batting
for Franken Quilt (it truly is a Monster!!) .....

And this has been extended to four days now...
but I do like---- and 
I am thankful that it is getting better...

LAYERING FRANKEN-QUILT

                        Here is Franken-Quilt ready to be pinned...


First, I sewed the music fabric long strips on the backing this morning....
                                                      ↡↡↡

Ironing all the seams open so they wouldn't peek through
the white...and trimming evenly

Then got my batting out--and
of course!! 
It was too small...phooey!!--so I cut a long 7"x 43.5" strip to the side
to make it long enough....zig-zagged it on and....
                                voila..just right!!
                                           ;))))

I had to get on the floor ---oof!--- 
(AND you do NOT need to see THAT picture believe me!) :'000

and  laid out the batting; and measured the
half way points on all my pieces...

Then I rolled the batting and the top together 
so I could then unroll it in place on the backing 
sitting, smoothed out on my dining table....

Phew--that's all for me today....

Tomorrow I will begin my pinning....

SEWIN' O' THE GREENS

               The center panel of my RSC January bright greens
                   is sewn together...I have the two side panels
                      and that top area to work on...

My scraps are mostly little bits and pieces with a few usable
scraps left...

                         What looks  gold is really a green above...

                            I have a few of these little strippets left...

                            I love this little Flower Fairy scrap a lot...
