LAYERING FRANKEN-QUILT

Here is Franken-Quilt ready to be pinned...

First, I sewed the music fabric long strips on the backing this morning....
                                                      ↡↡↡
Ironing all the seams open so they wouldn't peek through
the white...and trimming evenly

Then got my batting out--and
of course!!
It was too small...phooey!!--so I cut a long 7"x 43.5" strip to the side
to make it long enough....zig-zagged it on and....
                                voila..just right!!
                                           ;))))

I had to get on the floor ---oof!---
(AND you do NOT need to see THAT picture believe me!) :'000

and  laid out the batting; and measured the
half way points on all my pieces...

Then I rolled the batting and the top together
so I could then unroll it in place on the backing
sitting, smoothed out on my dining table....

Phew--that's all for me today....

Tomorrow I will begin my pinning....

That's all from "Franken-ville" today lol

  4. Looks good Julierose - glad it wasn't me having to get down on hands and knees on the floor - you're braver than I.

  6. Your quilt looks wonderful. I hate having to be on the floor. I wouldn't want a picture either. I hope the pinning goes quickly.

  7. If I ever get past a flimsy, I'll have to let Big Mickie get on the floor for me.....giggle. Great job.

  8. One step closer to getting this one done--yay! It always amazes me how long it takes to get everything layered and ready for those final steps!

  9. I find basting layering the hardest part of making any quilt. By far. The quilt looks great JulieRose

  11. You show them who is the boss!!! Small batting, errant strips, wayward seams - they are no match for your superior badass quilty skills. Go get'em tiger!!!

  12. Frankenville is so cheery! Love it. I don’t like the sandwiching-it’s exhausting.

  13. Looks great JulieRose - that time out was just what it needed and now it looks as though it's behaving nicely.
