fabric for the center back of Franken-Quilt...Thus sealing its fate as
a complete Christmas piece....
I have tried using this fabric many times and
it never went with anything else--
So here I featured it as the main piece...
Of course, those curious Christmas puppies had to come and see
what was going on back there...lol
They wanted to play with the children...so I let them stay on...
And added a small border of darker green and pointsettias...
In the background we have music playing--a "side-note" lol...
My morning was spent measuring and cutting to fit...
And (sigh) doing laundry, [we are either the cleanest or
the dirtiest two people--laundry is always with us it seems...]
*************************************
After a well-deserved cuppa tea, I made us Tom's favorite
chicken and rice casserole...it will go in at 4 and be ready
for 5:30 dinnertime...
*****************************
And.............💨
on this frigid day with windchills of
13-17mph we decided to stay inside..
a perk of retirement life--;))))
why go out unless you have to???

to cold outside! great backing
ReplyDeleteI love that print! It's almost too special for a backing, but I like it there. I do enjoy your ''improv'' backings!
ReplyDeletelizzy
Your backing is awesome. I agree day off, only out for the barn kittens, the dog, and to collect eggs.
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, I love that snowman fabric with the little children. It has such a vintage look to it. You found a great way to use it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice day all in all. I like that Christmas material.
ReplyDeleteYes very very cold
ReplyDeleteGood job using stash on this. Great choice
I'm with you on staying indoors when it's this cold. Mind you, we're not nearly as bad as what they're getting in the prairies so I guess we shouldn't complain. Retirement does have it's perks though! Nice way to use up that piece of fabric and give it a special place on your project.
ReplyDeleteGood choice for the back of your Franken quilt! Children and puppies always ready for fun, then just as quick, time for a nap.
ReplyDeleteLovely, your quilt works for fun time and nap time.
Smart to stay in and play with fabric. Dinner sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! But what is the black creature with the children and snowmen? I can't work out if it is a cat, a dog, a frog or a koala!
ReplyDeleteWhy go out indeed? I love that you are using that fabric which I find very appealing! I think it is adorable! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI stay at home too if the weather is bad and I don't feel like going out.
