CURLING PROGRESS

Here are the first four
"E N D S "
{Like innings in baseball}

I plan to make 9 Ends
and since each game consists
of 10 Ends
The whole quilt put together
will be the tenth:)))
(clever, no?? hahaha)

My next step is to cut each of these blocks
into quadrants and sew them mixed up...
V E R Y  S C R A P P Y
(which makes me happy😁)

I found the pattern in this book:

And followed their
instructions..
.
There are a lot of neat
projects in here
including, but not limited to,
small ones.

[Nann, here is what I've decided to
do with a lot of those 2.5 inch sqs]

Just pulling all the blues for now.

 A little "pick-me- up"
from my Sweet Baboo
yesterday:
👫💝
I love those pink roses and
the carnations...
SO PRETTY!!

*********************
Time to sit and rest now...perhaps
knit a couple rows on
the " takes forever" sock--

OLYMPIC CURLING 2022

We have become enthusiasts
of Olympic Curling...
[This is the American Team]↖↖↖

Throwing...

Just fascinating....

Here is the
House

And so
Using this as my
inspiration for
a new quilt project...

I started this:
↓↓↓
AT THIS STAGE IT IS THE
"Bull's Eye" Block

But
I will add the final little
circle to mimic
the "Home" in curling...
👵😊😍
What fun!!!
Stay tuned..

SOMETHING NEW ??

I started with
(16) 2.5" squares...

[I have way too many of these and
want to use them up]

And tried this slice and dice method
I saw on youtube's
"Wicked Spinster" video
Check out her vid for her
wonderful tutorial..;))

Here's what I ended up
with...
I don't 💙 it
and
I don't 👺 it...
S I G H
(why do hers look so
much better than mine?)

But I made some more
just to be sure...

I don't know...
too random,
too dark,
just too, too
Messy looking?
I think...😐

Perhaps shifting them around may
be the answer...
or just cutting them up and
rearranging them?
***********************
At any rate, I have put them aside
for now
and will be working on
my "cut-off"
1/2 sq triangles..

and they are all different sizes...
but I just want to have fun and
use them up somehow...for now.
Small little, short trials are
on my plate..

Just great to be able to sit and
sew for a bit...
phew, this has been such
a long haul...

WALKING, et al

I am finally able to walk
for short bits...
Hurrah!!!!

Here is my Shadow Self
walking down our front path...

F Y I :
I had my epidural shot last
Tuesday afternoon
and so I was pretty much
immobile until today.

{It was a LOT more painful than
I expected, but I got through it!!}

Shoes on, heavy coat and
S U N S H I N E
compelled me to begin
my route back to walking...

It is so wonderful to be outside
and breathing in the fresh air
while MOVING around!!
:)))

Tom set up this chair for me
so that I can rest in between
my  short Jaunts :D

↡↡↡↡
Right by our front garden spot

************************
AND:
Hello fellow knitters!!
Look at how far I've gotten!!

I have reached the spot right
before I begin to turn my heel
on the 2nd sock of this pair...
E X C I T I N G !!
😀😊😍
******************************
AND

I took out my little bin of
cut-off 1/2 sq triangles and
began to lay out  a little
fun zig-zag pattern...
Gosh, I love how it looks!!
So scrappy...

As soon as I can sit and sew
I will be putting them together...

AND

Here are some paired and ready to be sewn together...
I really am hoping to get these sewn
this weekend???I know I have
to go slowly, but I am very encouraged
after this shot--hoping, fingers crossed,
etc, etc...
👍👵💗
that I will continue to improve--

[It has been such a long
7 months of pain
and distress...I truly
would not wish this on anyone!!]
*******************************
HERE IS...TAH-DAH

MY LITTLE BOX
which
has sat beside me all
throughout this
challenging journey--
AND
here is what I've managed to
 hand sew:
👏👏👏
I had (luckily) pre cut
these with my Go! Baby
die cutter before this all
happened..

{These are in the "Kismet"
fabric line--which I love--
all peaches and maroons=
yummy!!}

So.....
I have quite a few
sewn and ready to
put together...

I want to cut more as
I have still not decided
how I do want to put
them together...
************************************
I know I promised
NOT TO BUY
ANY NEW FABRIC THIS YEAR,
S I G H ....

but, Tom, my Sweet Baboo,
💖💝💝
 convinced me to
purchase this lovely
Layer Cake to lift my spirits
a bit...
↓↓↓

And it surely did!!
:)))

**********************
This is where I am at right now...

I have to apologize if I didn't
answer all your wonderful good wishes
and comments --I am hoping
to be back here with some things
to show you...more often now..

Hugs and thanks to you all,

MY LITTLE BOX

My Little Box
is
set up
for hand sewing 👋

The lowest layer
contains tools
A Needle Threader
has become
ESSENTIAL
these days!!

And
this is the top = Working
Layer...

Voila!!
As you can now see...
I am once again
Traveling to

H E X A G O N I A.

Allows me to pass
these resting hours...

And Below is the 2nd layer
with the hexies sewn on papers...
they are mounting up
pretty quickly...

I am using the
"KISMET"
fabric line for all the
hexagons.
I 💝this line.

I have yet to decide
what form the finished
piece will take...

For right now,,,,
just sewing, sewing
and more sewing...

I like these big wheels☝
of hexies

And👇
this idea, too...
But we shall see
*****************
I am still waiting on the "call"
from the MD...
So I  am trying to pass
the time.
Reading, and re-reading books,
knitting
and now sewing
hexagons...

WINTER KNITTING, et al

Le Sock No. 1  c'est tout fini !!
;D
(DH is in the process of cleaning
 out under the tv in
 the background--
he is a gem!! 💓)

AND
↓↓↓

Here is the start of the
2nd sock...

Someone asked what yarn I
was using
↡↡↡↡
Very soft and cuddly yarn
really easy to knit and
it doesn't split on you...

I had gotten this quite
a while ago and I
don't know if it is still
available.

I have two more balls of the same
yarn but in a different colorway
that I plan to  knit up next...
👵👏
***********************
Knitting has kept my hands
busy these "resting" days.

For those of you who have
asked:

My MRI results showed
a herniated disc that is
causing my sciatica...
So...
Next up will be an
epidural
(to be scheduled,
soon I hope).

I hope this will allow me
to get back to walking
without pain.
🙏🙆
*********************
Tom is making beef barley soup
for our dinner tonight;
I will make a tossed
salad to accompany it...
I am trying to eat lightly as
I have been so sedentary...

I hope this finds you all healthy
and able to sew away...

I am off to ice my back and
do some light stretches...

LONG TIME NO SEE...

I have been knitting away on
my
 long Winter socks; and
I turned the heel
this week

And I am working my way down
the foot now...

**************************
I have been reading
while resting...

I 💖 this
Homer Kelly
series..
really good
and also
very funny
;D

AND

I got this for Christmas
by another one of my
favorite authors:
↡↡↡↡
I have yet to start this
collection of short
stories...

ALSO
I am
doing one of these
per day
↴↴↴
I am almost finished
with this volume and
have one more puzzle
to solve...

************************
My week has filled with doctor
appointments....
s i g h 👀😕

First, I went to see my
primary care physician on
Monday--
who sent me to an orthopedic
specialist--
where I had a series of
back twisting and
ankle turning
X-RAYS
Ouch!!
👹👺👽

Sooo
the upshot is
 that
I am scheduled for
an MRI this coming Thursday
the 13th
(ummm...
glad it's
not Fri 13th!!)

To see exactly what has
been going on for these
past pain filled 6 months!!!

Wish me luck👩💁😟
************************
We had 6" of snow yesterday
and it was 14 degrees here
this morning...
Glad I am an
"Indoor Snow Bunny"
hahaha

I may be absent for a
while but I am reading
posts and commenting...

Sadly no
sewing going on
as yet...
😭😭😭
