I am continuing on with my "Pita Box Junque Journaling"...
I had prepared quite a few pages ahead
so now all
I have to do is
add my journaling..,
This Journal is a combo of magazine
images and various papers and
stampings..
The small pix of the girl on the right
is a flip card with a journaling
spot on the back--
I love making those..

FYI: for those of you who have kindly
sent us your best wishes to us--
on our various med issues...
We are coming along pretty well.
Tom goes to his post op appointment
tomorrow [I will be driving as he cannot
as yet turn his neck to the left far
enough to be safe driving...]
And
my issue with thrush seem to be
getting better after taking a second
dose of meds this week...
P H E W ...
All of July has been quite the
journey for us....
π·π·
Looking forward to a hopefully
issue-free August...

Meanwhile....
I have been reading blogs and
following my Youtubers while
recuperating....
When I began feeling a bit better
I began to cut 1.5" strips
for some proposed
"Lego" works....
Not sure as yet what I will make, but
I am cutting all my usable scraps
and leftover bindings...
Just cutting a bit at a time as
standing for long times
is an issue for me these days...
I am using a combination of my die cutter
and rotary cutting
for the special smaller pieces.
If I don't want any waste and to use
all of a favorite fabric that I can,
I find that rotary works better...
I am fussy cutting images also...
Here is the start of my collection
below overflowing from a baggie
into this container...;)))
↴↴↴↴↴
I may do totally "scrappy" or
color themed--but for now,
just cutting strips...
I am not really "sewing" anything
much--just sewing leftover
jelly roll strips into sets to make
some placemats with matching
runners...
My energy level has not as yet
returned to normal...

When I awoke this morning, I found this
on my sewing room door:
MY DH is so funny.....
ππππππ
Try to stay cool in this heat wave....

Nice to see there is still humor in your house!
ReplyDeleteYour journal looks wonderful! I always love what you choose to add to your pages. I always enjoy going through my stash and cutting for future projects. I find it satisfying for some reason. I hope you both feel better soon. This heat is ridiculous. I'm inside in the cool house. It's just too hot and humid for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are both doing better! I ll write a better comment tomorrow. Hope all goes well on the long drive and Tom's check up. Wear a mask?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you and your DH are slowly on the road to recovery. I do hope you both feel better very soon. Your journal pages are looking fabulous. I love the use of various techniques. You are getting that much ahead in respect to cutting those fabric strips. Have a great weekend, Julierose. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLittle bits of progress on several projects leads to many finishes in the future. I'm glad you are both doing better.
ReplyDeleteDon't overdo! Tom needs you. (And you need him.) Stay cool and enjoy the Olympics!
ReplyDeleteYour DH and mine must be brothers from another mother because I sometimes find signs like that too. Very glad to hear that you both are improving...now just be good and don't overdo! My DH has given up driving so now it all falls to me. Not ideal, but it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteLike Wanda said -- a little here and a little there makes for steady progress. LOVE the sign on your door.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Your hubby is serious about you getting rest. I'd listen because #4 scares me LOL. Glad to hear you both are on the mend and I hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll show more pages of your Pita Box Junque Journal. It looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI hope Tom's appointment gave you good news today, and good news that the thrush is under control
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the 1 1/2" strips. I'm sure it will be something wonderful!
It's great news to hear you are both progressing toward full health. We've had a hot summer - 12 days in the 100's - and so my sewing is languishing. I have been able to hand quilt most days so my big Christmas quilt is 1/2 done. Better take advantage of that 30 minutes. . .
ReplyDeleteThat sign from Tom is a hoot! He definitely doesn't want you to overdo, but good to have a sense of humor about it. Glad you're both doing better and recuperating well. When you can't spend very much time actually sewing, then planning and organizing for a new project is a good thing to do!
ReplyDeleteA little humor everyday is good for you. It's so frustrating that the older we get, the more health issues arise, and the longer it takes to bounce back. At least you are both heading in the right direction.
ReplyDeletePat
Tom is too funny! Glad you both are doing better.
