My interpretation of
Soundgarden's :
"BLACK HOLE SUN"
by Chris Cornell..
I listened to all the versions I could
find on Youtube yesterday---
and I was so taken with the lyrics that
they inspired me to try to
render
them in fabric...
This is just my very starting
point on this...
I will be adding embroidery
and perhaps some
wording if I can figure out
how to do that...
Perhaps the facing page
should be the place for title
and lyrics......
What fun to challenge myself
to do this..
A new version of this tune
can be found here on
Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3SZu_KhWig
or simply put in the words
"Black Hole Sun" in the search bar
and a lot of versions
will come up...;)))
🌅
Enjoy....

The raggedy yellow has a good sunburst look to it. Are the other pieces hand-painted?
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love it, Julierose and what a great interpretation of the song in fabric! Soundgarden is one of my favorite groups; so this brought a big smile for me. This was a great challenge. I can not wait to see what you do next. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Your journals and books really bring out your creativity.
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job with this page, Julierose. Chris Cornell was such a great singer. Black Hole Sun is stuck in my head now LOL.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific. The arrangement of curves gives it a 3-D look.
ReplyDeleteThe frayed yellow edging really makes the centre stand out beautifully, wonder what you'll be doing with the embroidery!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't familiar with that song so glad you shared it - and I love your interpretation. Looking forward to seeing what happens to it next.
ReplyDeleteThe song is a new one to me. Your embroidered piece illustrates it nicely.
